Bypass / Software Noob

so i have a f bt 90 and tried bypassing the parking brake by grounding that out, then took the mute wire and re-pinned it right above the old slot on the rca harness.. it worked and was bypassed for about 2 or 3 minutes, then the system caught on and no longer works.. i checked the harness and the ground both are good.. does this only work for the d3 unit or am i missing something?

Also i see all these post about ppl using 3.0 software nd what not, i just checkd my system settings and says im running 2.0. how do i update up and will help how slow and laggy my unit is?

also can i program the nav to say the street names and show htem on the screen, it says text to speech but never worked os far

if you arent very hands on(like myself) and you are pretty good with tech stuff then do the software bypass. Search for software bypass. It is very simple to do. Change one setting in your data.zip and ground the green wire.
