couple newb questions..

Hey guys, i just did the 3.0 update thanks to http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25817 and i just want to add that i did everything on a mac (read some comments on people having issues doing the SD stuff via a mac.)

but my questions are this.

1, ive searched but cant find a link to 3.01, where can i get this?
2, now that i did the x910 is my unit considered an X unit? do i need to keep an eye on the X forums for hacks and mods, or is everything still an F unit and i stay put in this forum?
3, does the link i posted, and the files used in that contain the most up to date maps, if not, where can i find those?

and one other mac comment, i had no problem doing the set up and everything via the mac, however once the update was done my mac would no longer recognize the SD card, it wouldnt even let me reformat the card. however, my nikon D60 would let me reformat the card... its odd, but it works.

i did the update to 3.01 and now the "system startup in progress. please wait." message does not go away and the unit will restart itsself every few minutes. what did i do wrong and how do i fix?

Sounds like something went wrong. You may want to try it again. Did your unit work with 3.0 before upgrading to 3.01? Did you backup your unit first? Did you already apply some mods after 3.0?

so i need to reinstall 3.0 and do everything over?

edit:

tried to reinstall 3.0 and now i get the boot screen and then the black screen, cant get the unit to go into test mode.

You did not make a backup?? Not good.
If you can somehow get back into testmode, you can delete myflashdisk (nothing else) and recopy the entire x910 flashdisk.
Reformat your SD card and recopy testmode 2.3. Here is the file...

i found a f90bt backup on the forums so i have it now, but cant get into test mode to use it.

well, your version of testmode worked and i got in. my flash disk is copying over now....

same issue when updating to 3.01 "start up in progress. please wait." does not go away.

so looks like ill put 3.0 on for a final time and keep it there.

No problem. But I think I know the problem. You are using F90bt backup and you are trying to install x910 3.01 firmware. You have to use x910 flashdisk and x910 firmware together.

no, i have a f90 backup, now. but all the files i am using for the update are from the post i linked to in the first line of the original post. i do believe i am using all X info for the update.

got my unit back to 3.0 and it will stay there until i update it with someone elses software i guess.
