  1. As VBLUE is trying to say, the camera power should be connected to ignition power. The AVIC reverse sensor wire gets connected to the reverse lights.
  2. Yeah, no jailbreak required. DashCommand is an AppRadio compatible app.
  3. The iPod setting in handbrake works well.
  4. Neat. I really wouldn't be surprised if Pioneer transitions their future efforts towards products like the AppRadio for pretty much every reason you mentioned.
  5. You don't need nero. Put your backgrounds into a folder called Pictures. Burn the Pictures folder on the CD. Done.
  6. The mimics guys have figured it out, they capture the touch events via Bluetooth and make them system wide. Get in touch with them.
  7. On a non-jail broken device, yes, apps are sandboxed, we're not talking about that. It would need to be jailbroken, thus allowing an app running in the background to listen for the appradio and then create system wide touch events. Other apps wouldn't need any modification, they wouldn't know the difference. The mimics app does this already via Bluetooth, it really isn't a stretch to have it done via the cable.
  8. Unfortunately, that's what it looks like... I was really excited at first, I thought someone had cracked Pioneer's API. I'm really surprised no one has figured it out by now. The AppRadio compatible apps already have the code in them, but it's under NDA. Idealy, one would just need to write a jailbroken app that runs in the background and listens for the touch screen commands from the AppRadio directly. That way we get to keep bluetooth calling and no mods to the AppRadio would be required.
  9. You're right... I really hope this is just a software hack that doesn't require a mimics module. Using mimics would prevent bluetooth phone calls..
  10. Why would you buy both the XM and Sirius tuners? The channels are basically the same.
  11. Very interesting. I heard this was being worked on and It's cool to finally see it in action. We've had video mirroring for years, but passing touchscreen commands outside of apps is new. Obviously this will require a jailbroken device.

Source: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/AppRadio/AppRadio+(SPH-DA01)?tab=firmware Forum Discussion: http://avic411.com/i...e-avaible-v250/ Dear Valued Pioneer Customer: We would like to inform you of the availability of a free firmware update (version 2.50 released in April 2012) for the Pioneer AppRadio SPH-DA01 in-dash multimedia system. This firmware update applies only to AppRadio SPH-DA01 units sold in the United States and Canada. This firmware update (version 2.50) contains improvements for Bluetooth functions and minor bug fixes. This notice explains how to obtain the
  13. Once you reach the destination, navigation is automatically stopped.
  14. I don't think anyone makes one, but it would basically be a male to female dock connector cable with an RCA output.
  15. They have different cables for a reason, it's not a conspiracy.
  16. The avic feeds button on the avic has nothing to do with setting the splash screen; it's changed in the settings.

You can disable the eco stuff and you don't need avic feeds to add pictures.Just make a folder called "Pictures" on your SD card and copy over as many as you want.
  18. In theory, sure. In practice, maybe. I'm sure there's a less complicated way of doing it. A pass through dock cable with RCA out would work. at least if someone makes such a thing.
  19. The iPod module for the D1 is VERY limited. Like I said, you're better off using a dock -> RCA cable and controlling it with the iPod.
  20. It's a VW OEM Part. I'm not sure it would fit in a 300C. I think it's just called the "Media In Box" I found one here: http://www.kufatec.c...ahil4uvanf3ta17
  21. D1? You're better off using an iPod/iPhone RCA cable into an aux input...
  22. The D1 is one of the originals...it's functionality is very limited by todays standards. You'll also need at a minimum, the power harness, the AV harness, and GPS antenna. For the iphone, you'll have to use a standard iPhone/IPod RCA cable to the AV Input on the D1, all audio and video will be controlled by the iphone, not the avic. I'm not aware of current maps for the D Series.
