1. Can anyone tell me what the amp draw is with the ignition key on and what the amp draw is with the ignition key off? All the book says is max of 10 amps. Thanks.
2. I have a Z1-upgraded to Z3. I have had it since 2006. I bought the Z1 through Circuit City and they installed it. It has worked flawlessly since I bought it. A year and a half ago I upgraded to Z3 and it has worked flawlessly since then. It is installed in a 2006 Silverado 3500 Dura Max/Allision 6.6 Diesel. About a week ago, the battery was dead and the truck wouldn't start. I recharged the batteries and and they were okay. The battery meter showed 13-14 charge when running. Sunday it was dead again. The dealer said the batteries were bad. They had to replace the batteries pri
3. What a great deal. The new map software is $120.00 from Pioneer. I had a Z1 with 30 Gb HD, now I have a Z3 with a 60 Gb HD. Garret bought my 30 Gb HD and Credited my CC the same day he received my HD. Garret is a very trustworthy person to do business with. Service was fast, I had my new HD in two days. It works well, no more error message about the grounded brake line. The mapping program still doesn't show my street(but that's not Garret's fault) Thanks Garret.
4. I have the Z1 with ND-BT1 Carrier - Verizon Phone name/model - Motorola Adventure V750 Transfer Phonbook was a little cumbersome - Once I figured out what I was doing wrong the transfer worked fine. BUT for one name with multiple phone numbers, you end up with the name repeated and you have to go in a relabel each entry i.e. Dave cell or Dave home or Dave work. But it does work. Calling - works well and sounds good.
5. It was mentioned above that analog TV is out as of Feb 2009. Has Pioneer come out with an adapter or new receiver for digital TV? I currently have AVIC Z1 with an analog (NTSC) TV tuner.
6. I agree with Jimmy303, the picture quality is pretty good. When moving you get "picture flicker". Some channels come in real good, others are "snowy". The antenna is attached to the back window of my Silverado. Is there a better antenna out there than one from Pioneer? One that doesn't advertise you have TV in the truck. Also, what is the DirectTV Option? I'm considering Sat TV for my 5th Wheel, but I haven't heard of anything for the truck.
7.
depending on the interface module they used for the truck. most of them have a volume control. they can adjust it for you. free of charge. they should have gone over that with you.
Circuit City installed the Z1. Not sure what interface module they used. I'll ask tomorrow when I take it back in.
and the illum doenst dim the buttons it just changes the ack ground to the night mode
He claims he hooked it up right. Do you know if my '06 Silverado has an ILL wire?
and you dont cut any parking brake wire AT ALL.
Okay, I'm confused
8. Just had my Z1 installed yesterday. Seems to work, except lights don't dim and Parking Brake wires not cut yet. Have an appointment for tomorrow AM to fix the light dimming. Installer said there was two wires - which one do I cut and does that stop the red parking brake light on the dash from coming on? The Door Chime is REALLY LOUD. Perhaps I missed it, but is there anyway to lower the volume on the chime. It sounds like it is coming through the speakers. I have a 2006 Chevy Silverado 3500.
