  1. I currently own the avic n3 and unfortunately i just broken my face. I was wondering will the avic n4 face work with the avic n3 face? Are they compatiable?
  2. I tried both fast or short route conditions previously and still the nav system likes to take me out the way. For example, I traveled from Milwaukee, WI to Chicago, IL which is roughly over a 100mile drive. And the crazy thing is that it wanted me to take the street all the way there which is weird, luckly i did a mapquest lol.
  3. I own the Avic-N3 nav system. When going into my system settings there is an option for route conditions either "fast" or "short." I would like to know what is the difference between the two? I assume when you calculate a route it is going to map out the most efficient route possible. I notice when I select a route it doesn’t always give me the best route available. Example, most routes that I calculate in the N3 always direct me to take the street when possible, when the highway is quicker. Keep in mind I do have the VSS wire connected and within the system settings I have the option to avo
  4. I own the avic n3, and lately i notice the navigation is not as accurate as it used to be. Yes, i do have my VSS (pink wire) hooked up properly in my car. When calculating a route i been noticing latley that it makes me take the street, when the highway or freeway would be a much faster and shorter route. Within the options of the navi, I have tried both the "fast" and "short" route and it still takes me out the way. I also even tried both the west coast and east coast disc. I live in the Midwest region (Wisconsin) and both disc will work with my state i live in. Any suggestions on how i c
  5. I had the same issue in my lincoln Ls, I ran my N3 through my factory system and i had the pop nosie. Just put a resistor in-line of the remote wire and it will resolve the problem for you.
  6. I would like to know what is the difference between "fast" and "short" on the route conditions in the nav menu? The reason I ask is because I stay in Milwaukee, WI and I traveled to Chicago, IL and I calculated my route and as I was on the highway several times it prompt me to get off the highway and take the street. What I did was disregard her commands and continue to proceed on the highway to my destination, but still she kept asking me to get off and take the street. Keep in mind the drive was about 1hr 30min long on the highway, so image how long it would be on the street even if there is
  7. Do anybody know a way to back-up the nav disc?
  8. I just install my Ipod adapter and so far i am enjoying it. Unfortunatly I had to install my little box on the back of my seat in my trunk. The way my Lincoln Ls is designed I was unable to put it in the vechile. Therefore I had to run my Ipod cable underneath the carpet and into my center console. With that said, my cable is really short. I would like to know can this cable be extended or do they sell an adapter to extend the cable???
  9. I currently own an AVIC-N3 with a pioneer 12disc cd changer. Unfortunately I do not own an IPOD but i do own another portable MP3 device. Just last week I bought the CD-UB100 to use with my MP3 device, with my AVIC-N3. I really didnt care for it, therefore i took it back. At this time I am in the market of purchasing an IPOD and the IPOD adapter. My question to you guys is, how do you like the IPOD? Is it user friendly? How does it work with the AVIC-N3? If possible can anyone send my some screen shots of the layout interafce with the IPOD displayed on the AVIC-N3. My email address is: arthurt
  10. I just happen to be scrolling through Pioneer's website and i came across this interesting device called the CD-UB100. It is similar to the IPOD adapter, but it is for those who dont own an IPOD. I was wondering if anyone own this device, and if so can you tell me a little about it or if you are happy with the product?
  11. I own a 2003 Lincoln Ls, and I had the Z1, but you have to build a custom bracket to support the radio. I could have had it done for the right price, but I just exchanged the radio for the Avic-N3 and i was pretty happy. I have pictures on www.cardomain.com if you wanna check it out. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2380386
  12. Does anyone know of an option to skip, bypass or remove the caution screen which pops up when you turn on your Avic radio? I know it is a safety/warning screen and all you have to do is press "OK" and then it will display the navaigation. But it would be nice if i can just get in the car or if someone else was to get in the car and the navagation comes up right away.
  13. [quote name="cadwiz"]I've been using it for a few days and I must say it works pretty good. If you drive in traffic daily (like I do) then its worth the $10. LA traffic can be such a killer that I look at it as money well spent. It's a beautiful thing when you see that flashing red line warning you about a traffic jam miles before you get stuck in it. This gives you the opportunity to plan and reroute your destination. It will also warn you about accidents ahead and give average speeds at various points along the route. Overall, I'm pleased with the service. I didn't go for the stocks, weather
  14. If there are any Nav traffic owners i want to know how do you like the XM Nav traffic, is it worth buying? What are some of the benefits of having Nav Traffic? Also what other options do you have when using the XM? I was reading in my AVIC-N3 manual and it looks like you can also view stocks, view sports scores, and etc.
  15. I own the pioneer AVIC-N3 with GEX-P920XM tuner and 12 disc CDX-P1280 changer. I wanted to know how can I go about listing to my music from my XM tuner or CD changer while watching a movie??? On my previous pioneer radio (avh-p6800dvd), all i had to do was press the rear source and click on the (ENT) button on my remote, and then I was able to watch movies and listen to music. With the N3 i am able to watch movies while driving, but when i click the rear source nothing happens :(
