  1. Hello, has anyone seen the lastest news from the Apple website about the upcoming update expected to be out this June (2.0 version). According to the site, it will have numerous updates including what I think, the possibility to transfer all contact info. Does anyone else see this as, what us IPhone users, the ability to bring all contact info over to the Head units automatically?
  2. My bad...I must've overlooked the MP3 Player Support. Now we're talking business. I'm starting to really get a feel for this unit.
  3. Looks like a good head unit but no ipod/mp3 integration...WOW!!! I think I'll just hold onto my Z2 and continue to use my iphone. That way, I still have mobile internet acess, as well as ipod capability all for the price of just $400.00 (iphone). That's the way to go if you ask me!
  4. Well, I had my Z2 replaced this afternoon. Before I took it into the audio shop, I tried, again, to import background pics from my cd-r. Needless to say, it didn't work. After they replaced the Z2, I took the same cd-r and tried to import pics and guess what...it worked!!!! Also, the bypass is still in effect. The unit has a manufacture date of July 2007. Hopfully, they already loaded the patch for the freezing up problem (probably not) but I won't worry about that until the weather gets a little warmer. With the exeption of my steering wheel controls not working, all is well. I'll take it bac
  5. sid06...I'm wondering if you ever had any success with your background pics? I'm having the exact same problem that you described. I downloaded a trail version of nero 7 (to be exact). Created the "picture" folder with over 100MB of "junk" data. Burned the cd-r as per instructions in the manual (mode 1, no multi-sessions and finalize). Still, all I get is CD-ROM Inserted. I go to the menu to change background and the"import from disc" is grey and not allow me to select it as an option. What was your "secret to success"? I thought that I was going all the way into the menu to change the backrou
  6. rmo55c...I would think some sort of refund is due to you since Pioneer has now put out a "fix" to the problem and have made it "free" for all Z1/Z2 owners. I'd be calling Pioneer and raising hell for a refund.
  7. OK...I downloaded the zip from dawgbone, extracted the file and burned it using the nero 7 trial version. I used a cd-r, made sure it was on mode 1, no multi-session and finalized. The burn was clean but still, after reading the disc, the splash page reads CD-ROM Inserted, and there it stays. After a few minutes, I removed the disc and installed it in a different navigation head unit I have in my other car. It read the disc and started showing the pics in a slide show presentation. I just cannot figure it out. I admit, I'm not too computer savvy but I manage to do all the other downloads and i
  8. It seems to hang up on CD-ROM Inserted. I left it there for over 5 minutes to make sure I'm giving it enough time to read the disc. I'm not sure if it's actually reading it or not, but with the overall size of the disc, shouldn't that be enough time for it to start reading? When I went through the menu to change the background, the "import from disc" was subdue and not allow me the option to import from the disc. The burn setting is definitely mode 1, single session with finalization. I'll have to check on the resolutions of the jpegs. Maybe I'll go back and reburn with just 4 or 5 jp
  9. Hello, I'm new to the forum but have been viewing several topics on the forum for quite some time. I've been having a problem trying to upload background pics from my CD-R. I've used Nero 7 (trial version), CDBurnerXP, and windows to burn. I've gone through several disc and all I get is CD-ROM Inserted on the Z2 splash screen. I've created a "Picture" folder, with several sub-folders all with jpeg pics and included 101MB of dummy data within the folder. The overall size of the Picture folder is 117MB from my desktop, single session, mode 1 IAW the manual instructions. Shouldn't this be good e
