  1. It sounds like from some reports it wipes out all your settings, so it might not be smart enough to check for that stuff. Since it's easy enough to go into service mode and just do a rebuild from the X series 3.x backup I will just give it a shot.
  2. I got an email that it just shipped from pioneer. I did the X series 3.0 hack on my F90BT does anyone have any experience of flashing over it with the legit version?
  3. Just wanted to report another F90BT updated sucessfully. I even purchased the pioneer upgrade but I got sick of waiting for it.
  4. Bug Fixes and software updates should be free of charge. Maps updates should cost money. They should be separate.
  5. Your bypass probably failed. I was unable to access the system and navi settings until the hardward bypass was fixed.
  6. I also ordered a F90BT from 6ave on Amazon and received it quickly and in working order. Was 2.0 updated as well.
  7. Just wanted to confirm that the F90BT and GEX-P10XMT work together to allow you to get XM music only, no traffic (no data port on the F90BT). I activated it tonight with my new F90BT and it's working great.
  8. Depends on if you are measuring WITH plugs plugged into the back..or not. Also..what type of unit do you have in dash now? Double Din is..Double Din. Not always try the Chevy Cobalt is double din but the dash isn't deep enough for double din units. I had to modify the dash to get it to fit in correctly.
  9. I read your post, so you have personally made the GEX-P10XMT work on the F90BT ?
  10. So just to spell it out. Will the GEX-P10XMT work on the F90BT for music only? The reason I ask, I am replacing a failed D3 with an F90BT. I am going to try but it would be nice to know ahead of time if I am wasting my time trying.
  11. I just removed the unit from my dash and went back to stock. I did get it to fire up breifly and went to the Hardware screen, the device mentions excessive vibration and that I should contact my service center. I called pioneer, I need to send it back with a 200 dollar check if I want it repaired. I don't like the D3 enough to get it fixed. I think I am going to just get a Nuvi, I considered a F700BT but if it's anything like the D3 it aint gonna last long.
  12. I can't imagine you would have to upgrade to get the message to go away. It more likely the motor in the drive or something is failing.
  13. Wow I am suprised so many ppl have the same issue. I just started getting this. I noticed that the time on my unit was **:** so I turned off the car and back on to powercycle the unit. When it came back up I get the insert appropriate disk message as well. I haven't tried to update anything, and the DVD has been in the drive since the moment I got it . I don't don't switch it out for anything since I have an ipod. I get sound via FM but the screen and menu buttons are non responsive. I have had the unit about 14 months now, so I am out of warrenty as well.
  14. you also need to make sure you supply a +12V to the steering controls as well. I hooked mine up a long time ago so I am not exactly sure, but the instructions where a little fuzzy on that part. The stock head unit supplies +10V to the the controls and if you follow the direction with the SWI-PS it leaves that part out. You need to find that +10V wire on the stock harness and hook up a +12 (you can't do +10 anymore without the stock headunit). Then you should be able to program it ok. The stock system works (at least on my 2005) worked on a +10V reference and a series of resist
  15. I am using the VSS sensor wire on the PCM C3 connection, I think it's purple and pin 4? I could be wrong I haven't looked at it in a while, but I am sure it's the correct wire, I got it from my factory service manual, the ignition is a COP and uses a different set of wires which I also use for my nitrous controller I have been living with this for about 1 years, however since I am spending more time in stop and go it's throwing the code daily. I would try the BCM but it appears there is no VSS on the BCM with the new fangled GMLAN. I might try to find a non driven wheel sensor lead
