As long as it's a class 10 high capacity you should be fine. There's guys in here that use there HDDs

My choice was between the 8000nex and dnn991hd. Didn't want to wait that long and the bootup time is slow on the dnn990hd. As for the connecting it to the accessory in my truck it stays on. But when I go to the on position it shuts down and reboots itself.

I not had 2 albums. I figured since I'm doing a road trip let me see if my portable HDD will be recognized. It didn't recognized it. My HDD is formatted to Mac format. I would have to reformat my drive. Not doing that. I rather just add music to my 16gb sd card

I just used MixTrax for the first time last night. I had a SD card in the car with music. I really love it. Pretty cool. One thing I hate is the fact that I cant use MIXTRAX with my IPHONE library. Sucks. But i really like this feature. I can see myself using it more often.

The reason why the ipad3 is not working is because you need a stronger outlet to power the ipad. If you noticed at home that you cant charge the ipad using the computer, you have to plug it in to the wall outlet to charge the ipad. maybe someone else can chime in.

Steering would work all it is is a 3.5mm jack input. If you have a steering wheel control Interface it should be plug and play

Start up time is about 10-25 seconds from when the ignition is on the on position. Nav takes about 5-10 seconds to kick in. Unit is pretty fast

Check when connected. Pull-up the notifications menu and check if your airplay is set to 8000nex.

no you can plug an ipod on usb2. But if you want to use Appradio you need to plug the iphone on usb1. Aha and pandora work via lightning cable

works great. Im using a iphone5. Great quality sound, clarity. Everything sounds great. and everyone can hear me just fine.

use an original apple charge cable. if your using a a cheap cable its not going to recognize. USB1 is used for iphones and ipods and usb2 for android devices

Go to settings on the unit not the navigation settings and click on navigation info settings. In there you will twoo options. you can turn off both. One is for navigation info pane and AV info pane.

lol that too. Sand the ground surface with sand paper. make sure its a good connection or you can use a multi meter to check it. -
Maybe your gps signal is not accurate. Is your vss wire hooked up??

I think there was a member here that did add a usb drive and it worked. as to for how large i dont know. Yes when plugged in you will see the folders in alphabetical order. Album art will show on the unit.
