  1. I took the green cable about 1' from where it come out of the plug, stripped it clean for about 1/4" and did the same to the black wire. Then I soldered these two wires together and warp it with heat shrink Wrap. Any other spots what could be better to connect the green to the ground, I'll appreciate your response, Thanks
  2. I too receive this message about the "parking brake not properly engaged" when I am driving. the parking brake wire is connected directly to the neg (-)/Black powerlead that goes into the device - I soldered it myself before I gave the installer my unit to install. I did follow the instructions to do the 'software bypass' too - no difference, I get the same message after I receive the "set on" confirmation. I can still do all the functions, while driving, but this message pops up at least once a day!. Very frustrating. But my biggest issue is, I cannot enable the "Apps" feature with A
  3. Update: I finally got hold of Pioneer after three days of trying to talk to someone. The tech told me that the directory AVIC5000NEX must be the only entry in the root of the USBstick AND that it must be formatted in either FAT32 or FAT16. Also, there should not be any hidden files on the stick. I formatted two sticks, one with FAT16 and one with FAT32 and are goung to try again in the morning to update the firmware. Will report back.
  4. Hi An anyone please tell me what the directory name should be then that gets copied to the USB stick? I extracted it exactly as it appears and it keeps on failing. What I have on my USB stick is the directory: AVIC5000NEX and that is it.('cause - all the files are included under this directory) My 8000NEX is currently on 1.03 and I tried both upgrading to 1.06 and 1.08 - in both cases it fails, saying that it cannot find the update file. Using Windows to do the extraction (Total commander, to be accurate). Any help is apprecated. Thanks
  5. Yeah - I also would like to know what 5th gen iPod (that was the iPod video, right?) allow you to have have 115GB of music on it? As far as I know (and according to Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1353) the 5th Gen have the max size of 60GB, as the one that I have....LOL
  6. Got it.!!!! The secret - iTunes needs to be in control of your ipod. It does NOT populate the playlists correctly if you have the ipod setings set to be "manually managed". I removed the tick from 'manual manage' and it worked. Thanks for this great forum
  7. OK I copied all my MP3's to my local drive on my laptop and import it all to iTunes. Out of the 6000+, it indexed about 3700 into MusicSphere. When I go down into each category of the playlists(inside itunes on the leftside), I can see different songs, in all the musicsphere playlists. I copied these playlists to the iPod. On my way into the office this morning, I connected my iPod to the 920. When I select musicsphere on the screen, it still comes back saying "you need to build the musicsphere playlists on your pc...blah, blah, blah" This is so frustrating. What am I doing wrong?
  8. hey By this I mean the mp3's are not locally on my laptop's hard drive. It's all on my desktop and I share the directory over my network. I imported it all (directly from the network drive,) into iTunes. As far as I know, that should not matter, because iTunes anyway populates its database (somewhere under My documents or My Music folder) with all the songs, right? but I could be wrong and need to know if I need to have all my songs locally on my hard drive of the laptop, where I have iTunes running. Thanks for responding Bert
  9. Guys I need some help please. I am sharing all my songs from my original desktop PC (win7) to my laptop(win7). I can see/play them all in iTunes on my laptop. On my laptop, I also have MusicSphere installed. When I run Musicsphere, it took about 24hrs to index 4000+ songs, I did click to the left corner of the music sphere app, above each of the 40 lists, to do the 'refresh'. But I only get 42 songs in the all these playlists.....WTF? I am sharing all my songs from my desktop PC to the laptop where I am doing this. Do all my songs need to be local for MusicSphere to work? Anyone knows?
