I am starting to see firmware updates for the 2015 models enabling the one cable solution. Does anyone know if this is going to apply to the current NEX line up? It would be great to get rid of the stupid Apple HDMI adapter.

Just got the Pioneer microphone to do an auto equalization. However the settings for auto equalization on the head unit are grayed out. Heard that It might be something to do with the e-brake bypass. Any ideas? Thanks

When I try to enter an address, the keyboard appears for a second an then the application shuts down. Has anyone else come across this? Using iPhone 5s with ios 8.1

I use the idatalink maestro sw remote interface. This allows you to assign two functions to your steering wheel buttons. the first function is press and release immediately, the second is is press and hold for 3 seconds. The whole thing is programmable via maestro's website. Comes with a usb cable. I have assigned the immediate press for my presets and press and hold for station seek. Works like a charm. Picked it up on eBay for $60. You can also assign other buttons on your steering wheel for things like answer a call, activate Siri etc. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Can anyone recommend a good lightning extension cable. Bought one from China. Lasted about 3 months and then the tip just snapped off. I have heard about one called Cable Jive. Any thoughts? Thanks

I am using the free Spotify account om my iPhone 5s. Works fine but won't let me forward to the next track after about three or four songs. I have to listen to the whole song. This applies to the Spotify on screen buttons, the steering wheel remote and the deck's own hardware buttons. Any ideas?

Well I just did the update. No issues at all. Unbelievably sweet. Pioneer is forgiven. I'm happy to say that my Kia beat the big guys (Mercedez, BMW etc) to it.

Oops! Didn't realize it was out. Usually get an email from Pioneer regarding firmware updates. Didn't get one this time. Will do the update tonight. Then I may forgive them!

Well this is it. I am done with Pioneer. I have supported them for over 25 years both in Canada and the UK. But this CarPlay fiasco has p***d me off. They can't even update their website. Still says "arriving early summer 2014" I sold my Z140 at a huge loss and bought the NEX 4000 in anticipation of CarPlay. They won't even reply to my emails. If I had the money, I would sue their pants off.If it is true that they are waiting for Apple approval, then Apple can go to hell too. So in concluding, good by Pioneer and hello Kenwood, Alpine, Clarion etc. Also goodbye Apple and hello Android.

Thanks. Great to know that I don't have a defective unit. Anyone know if there is fix coming from Pioneer? I had a Z140 which was very buggy with iPhone 5. I would have thought Pioneer would have taken care of all the bugs and glitches on their Nex units. I did speak to their tech support and they told me it was due to iOS 7. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

Hi I love the unit but every now and then, it refuses to connect to my iPhone 5s. When it powers on it says connect your cable and then it says connecting but never connects. I then have to turn off the bluetooth on my phone and then turn it on again. Then it will connect and ask to allow the phone to launch the appradio. I am using the Apple digital av adapter via HDMI. I will go for days without any issues and then all of a sudden the problem appears. Has anyone else had this issue and any solutions? Thanks
