  1. Based on the last couple of times.. it looks like it's taking about 4 days or so. The car isn't my primary commuter car, so it goes several days without driving. No other accessories connected and headlights turn off automatically. I considered it being something else.. just with the car being a 2006 and didn't have an issue prior to the installation of the D3.. was going with that being the cause right now. I'm taking the car in tomorrow to the radio installer. I'm hoping they can find the cause.
  2. At the same time.. I had the D3, BTB200 (Bluetooth), Pioneer IPOD interface cable and GEX-P10XMT (XM Tuner) installed. Would any of these go to the switched ignition wire?
  3. I have a 2006 Toyota Solara that had a factory JBL Nav unit. Last November I had it replaced with the D3 as well as blutooth, XM, etc. The installer indicated an adapter was needed since a wiring harness wasn't going to work. I've now had 2 drained batteries since the install of the D3. I called Pioneer and they said the adapter could be the problem and they recommend using Soundgate adapters. Can anyone help explain to me why this external adapter is needed, is there anyway around not needing one and could it be causing a drain on my battery? Thank you
  4. I use the Boyo frame that got carried over from my last system that the D3 replaced. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-iagn5XcTb9 ... =707VTL200 I didn't have a good spot to mount a camera so went this route instead. The daytime quality is good.. night time is lacking though. If anyone has a suggestion for a good night time option.. I'll be interested in hearing.
  5. Obviously not.. I guess trusting the installer was a mistake. I went to a local reputable dealer and avoided the big chain stores because I thought I'd get a better install.
  6. I guess I don't know much about the set up.. Even though I don't have a subwoofer.. I went in to the initial settings and selected Sub W for rear speakers and it sounds much, much better. I have a Solara convertible and not sure if the rear speakers are meant for bass only or not.
  7. ok.. got the whine taken care of. The installer added some noise suppressors.. My front to rear fader still seems off... I can't have it centered.. I have to have the fader 2 notches to the front for the sound to be acceptable. I'll play around with the setting to see how to make it sound as good as possible.
  8. I have two things going on that I'm going to have the installer check for me. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced it. I replaced my stock JBL radio in my 2006 Solara convertible with the AVIC-D3. (XM and BT as well) I'm getting what I think they refer to as alternator whine. A high pitch noise that increases as I press down on my gas peddle. I also don't get much volume out of my rear speakers. I have the factory installed speakers with nothing additional added. When I change my balance to just the rear.. it doesn't sound anywhere as vibrant as when I have it
  9. I figured it out. I have the Verizon VX9900 EnV and found out how to transfer my contacts via vcard. It just took a little bit of time to find out where to do it from. I do have to do it 1 at a time.. but not a big deal.
  10. Just to let you know... I drained my battery just by sitting in my car doing phone book entries with my key set on accessory. Was probably doing it for about a hour. The BT stuff must be a huge drain. I then saw in the manual a few times where they say to have the car running anytime you're using the D3. That'll never happen again.
  11. Does anyone have an update on what phones actually allow you to hear voice dialing prompts over the car speakers? I have Verizon with a VX-9900 (EnV) and you can't hear the voice prompts.

  13. I can't either. I have Verizon and not able to transfer my phonebook. I've figured out how to add phone numbers to my list, but can't edit the name.
  14. Got mine to work. I had to put my phone in discovery mode under the bluetooth options and let the D3 search for the phone. What doesn't work that has me a little disappointed is voice dialing. You don't hear the female voice confirming what entry you're calling.
