How easy is it to install without bubbles? I'm almost comically bad at putting screen protectors on my phones and tablets w/o bubbles - I either have them do it when I buy it or pay a dude at a kiosk at the mall $5 to do it. I don't have an issue putting them on straight, though, so if bubbling doesn't seem to be an issue I should be able to do it myself.

The artist and title fields are grayed out unless they can be tagged. Since (AFAIK) only musical artists and song titles can be tagged, news/sports/talk/etc will always be grayed out. I agree, it's a pain in the tuchus.

I had no idea that you could do that. It's very good to know! Mine will usually stop navigating when I reach my destination, but it absolutely refuses to at the entrance to my kids' school. I've tried numerous methods to get the latter right - intersection, address, manually setting it via the map, all to no avail.

The 4000 might be cheaper to replace, since it's a different screen.

Lifetime subscriptions are a different matter, though. I found this on the SiriusXM site:

There is no way that I'm aware of to connect a StarMate to the HU and operate it using the HU. The CD-SB10 would not do what you're trying to do. Have you called SiriusXM and tried to do the equipment swap? Years ago they would allow lifetime subscriptions to be transferred a limited number of times for a fee, regardless of where they were purchased. Just act like it's obvious that you can do it (don't say anything like "I'm not sure if I can") and see how it goes. If you've already tried that, I'm afraid you're probably out of luck.

That's odd. I have an iPod Classic hooked up at all times to USB1 on my 8000 and my Galaxy S5 always stays connected via Bluetooth. Are you talking about Bluetooth purely for calls, or also for media playback? I only use mine for calls, so maybe that's the difference.

Well, in my case I'm fortunate in that AppRadio wasn't really a consideration when I bought it. I'd like to get it working since it's an available feature and is useful, but I would've purchased the 8000 if that wasn't one of its features. However, your point is right-on: if they're going to include a feature and advertise it, it needs to work.

I wouldn't want my ability to have integrated in-car navigation tied to my choice of portable device. In my case, I don't have an iOS device, nor do I have any particular desire to own one. I may at some point - I'm far from an Apple hater - but I prefer my navigation system to remain independent of the brand of my other devices. The other advantage is the capacitive touch screen, but if that's the only consideration it wouldn't be worth the extra scratch (IMO).

I don't know about #1. #2: Yes. If you go into "Saved Locations," "Home" will be one of them and you will be asked to set it the first time you click on it. There's one for "Work" also. #3: Yes. Page 41 of the manual. I find the process on the Pioneer to be much easier than the Garmin.

1. You have to pick a TTS voice for that in your "regional" settings. It will tell you the ones that speak street names. Page 24 of the manual during initial setup, page 47 and 53 after. 2. There is a circle with a down arrow on the screen. Press that to select your audio source. Page 20 of the manual.

I'd have to see what the OEM connector looks like on a Corvette, but many OEM antennas can be retrofitted easily, without an adapter. Mine (on a Volkswagen Passat) could've been connected that way, but I opted for an adapter so that it would be easy to put the factory HU back in when I eventually sell the car. Any XM antenna will work with any XM tuner, it's just the connectors that have to be figured out. Heck, the OEM antenna in my VW is a Sirius antenna, and it works fine with the SVX200V1, which uses the XM satellites.

Based on some other posts here, it sounds like it might only work if there's nothing connected to USB1. I have an iPod connected to USB1, and disconnecting it when I want to use AppRadio mode is more of a pain in the butt than it's worth. I may try it at some point for S&G, though.

This makes me wonder if the issue I'm having with getting AppRadio mode to work with my Galaxy S5 is due to having an iPod connected to USB1. It's a Classic, so no apps, but perhaps anything plugged into that port makes Android AppRadio a no-go.

I have an AVIC-8000NEX that I've been trying to get to work with my Galaxy S5 in AppRadio Mode, but I have thusfar been unsuccessful. Though the S5 isn't on Pioneer's list, others have reported that it works, so I must be missing something. I have the Samsung MHL adapter connected to USB1 and the HDMI connector on the 8000NEX. I am able to go into AppRadio mode, but all that I get is a mirror of the phone's screen (a small sun-like globe on a gray background and the buttons on the left side).
