Well I recieved an offer I could not refuse and sold my Avic, going back to an alpine ixa-305, and will use my tom tom when I need navigation, the 60-100 second wait is just a bit unlivable for me, I thought I could get used to it but it really became a pain, cant adjust the volume until the system finished booting. I know the 3.0 update is on the way but I don't expect much improvement. I wish this forum did other stereos because there is nothing like this for Alpine. my hope is that someday pioneer gets everything working well so I can come back, Best wishes to all and good luck.

mine is for sale as well, I have 3.0 ordered but the more I have thought about it, I dont want to keep living with the quirks. I will just use my tom tom portable gps, and get a single din stereo with good ipod controls, probably that alpine unit designed for ipod. the f700 is a nice piece of hardware but I think they should see if they can find another OS other than microsoft.

I am pretty much waiting to see if 3.0 improves my 700, if not it is going up for sale and I will go back to alpine. It is nice but I cannot live with the shortcomings.

I have had 2.006 several days, honestly, I cannot see any difference. I already had the updated xmradio logos, the only mod I had was the mute button which I restored immediatly. maybe there is a difference in performance, but I have not noticed it. one tip, make sure you go in and reset your HPF if you had it on so you don't accidentally blow your speakers.

got it to work, you have to create a location, you will know you have done this when there is a little pink balloon, when you click on the balloon, you get a popup window with a send button there. the directions are correct but they dont go far enough in explaining. to be honest, it wasnt worth the effort. it's a shame.

installed 2.006 this morning then used testmode v2.3 to add my old data.zip with mods back, everything back to normal.

I am afraid to try it because I don't want to lose my mute button. the xm logos I updated long ago. If the rumours prove true that 3.0 is just a few weeks away, I plan to just wait.

Hi, I am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem. evertime I shut the car off and restart, the ipod does not come back, I have to wait until the f700bt boots up, then disconnect and reconnect my ipod. my ipod is the 5.5 gen ipod. thank you.

aaaaaa the agony of waiting for new stuff. well I am going on a week long road trip, I figure I will either love or hate my f700 by trips end. hopefully love it. and by the time I get back the update will come out.
