  1. I have the same problem. Everytime i shut off the car the speakers thump. Even with the radio off. Did you try hooking up the rca outputs like previously mentioned? or is it still hooked up to the other speaker outputs? Anybody have this problem? how did they fix it? I have a 2003 KIa Optima with a factory amplifier with the D! installed.
  2. did you connect the red wire on the xm unit? if you did according to the xm install manual the unit will not work right if both the ip bus cable and the red wire are connected. if you did connect the red wire, disconnect it.
  3. i had the same problem. i have a kia optima. what i did was buy a double din install kit made by Metra. I bought mine from ebay but you could probably find one in crutchfield if you knew the part #. do some research using google and you might find a kit for your car.
  4. do you have it bypassed? if not, you have to have the parking brake on in order to see the video.
  5. i want to know if i can make my amp shutdown before i shut off the car through this menu. i get this popping noise every time i shut off my car.
  6. the secret menu has options to change settings in the radio. i know that the avic x1 has it but i dont know how to get into this menu for the avic d1
  7. anybody? 124 views and nobody has an answer
  8. is there a secret service menu for the avic d1?
  9. i have tried modifying the backgrounds and burning a new dvd and the iso file is too big to fit on a single layer dvd, even after i delete all the poi's. can i delete anything else in the iso to make it fit? i did it with the 50mp software but somehow the file is too big with the 60mp software.
  10. the mp3 file name should be the same as the id3 info. i have an mp3 cd and it shows the id3 info because all the files are named the same as the id3 info
  11. Would this also stop turn off popping? I have a 2003 kia optima and the speakers pop when i turn off the car.
  12. did it open when you first installed it? and if it did, did you recently take the radio out and reinstalled it? it may be hitting the dashboard. i had this problem when i installed mine and all i did to fix this was use the bottom holes to bolt it to my dash and now it opens. the bottom of the screen was hitting the dash bacause it was too low in my dashboard when i first installed it.
  13. this is a update on the metra kit for the 2003 kia optima. i took the dash off and noticed that there were two sets of holes on the kit to bolt to the dashboard. i had used the four top holes instead of using the bottom holes. i took the screws out and moved them to the bottom holes and it lined up with the dash perfectly. it moved the front of the radio up so that now i can open the screen to put in cds and eject my dvdrom. that goes to show you that doing something in a hurry you will probably miss the most simplest things. thanks for your replies, they helped me out in realizing that i was
  14. has anybody tried putting some kind of spacer under the radio, so that the radio is maybe 1/8 to 1/4 inch higher in the dash? is there enough space above the radio, so that you can put a spacer below the radio?
  15. i bought the d1 and a double din installation kit for the kia. i installed the radio but if i push the dashboard back on where it clips back into place, when i try to open the screen to put in a cd, the screen gets stuck and won't come out all the way. if i leave the dash on without clipping back into place, i can open the screen to the cd and dvd position. it looks like the radio might be installed a little to low in the dash. has anybody had this problem with installing this radio in this car? and what did you do to fix it so that the screen can open to put cds in? the install kit is the met
