  1. Similar issue here, though it won't always do it. When it does it though, if I try to play sound through my phone after disconnecting, the phone plays are garbled electronic sound and the only options is to reboot the phone. I just updated to 9.2 last night and the issue remains.
  2. I upgraded from the 5000 to the 7000 and have noticed that the 7000 is a fair bit slower than the 5000. For example, switching inputs or switching to nav all show a bit of hesitation before actually switching over. This lag wasn't present in the 5000 at all. Is this normal for the 7000 or did i get a bum unit? Thanks in advance!
  3. How did you run your wires? Dos you still through anything?
  4. I bought my 7000 about 3 weeks ago. How can I tell what map version is already installed on the unit? I would assume it has the latest 2014 Q2, but should def check first.
  5. I have this same problem with a 7000 in my Grand Cherokee, but the clearance issue is at the top. How do you repositon the unit lower? My conversion kit to mount the unit only has single drill holes, so I can't loosen and lower it.
  6. Turns out, I don't need to disable CarPlay. If I change the input on the radio to USB1, I can stream whatever is playing on the phone and it charges.
  7. Can I disable CarPlay on the 7000nex? If I can and do that, what happens when the iPhone is connected via usb1?
  8. I have an iphone and a 7000NEX and have myself using audio over BT instead of CarPlay... Mostly because i am listening to apps that CP doesn't support. However, this tends to drain my phone battery. Is there a way to stream music over the USB connection without using BT?
  9. I haven't inserted a Dvd\cd for two reasons: 1. I won't ever use one anyway 2. My new issue is that the 7000 fits in my 2012 Grand Cherokee in such a way that the top trim piece prevents the screen from moving, so I can't access anything behind it without removing the trim. It isn't a huge deal as I won't ever use the dvd or so card slot, but it is my new annoying thing,
  10. Interesting.. mine stops also, it just is a bit annoying..
  11. I just swapped a 5000NEX for a 7000NEX ( the 7000 fits better in my Grand Cherokee ) and have noticed that when the unit first powers on, you can hear the DVD drive turning - kinda like it's looking for DVD. The 5000 never did this. Has anyone need/heard this?
  12. Yeah, I figured there was definitely a trade-off between wireless quality and pain of running wires. Thanks for the info.
  13. I would like to install a backup camera in my Grand Cherokee and use it with my AVIC-5000NEX, but really don't want to deal with running wires the length of the vehicle and removing the million pieces of trim to do that, Do suitable and stable wireless backup cameras exist that would still plug into the NEX?
  14. It's frustrating. Not sure why they make a conversion kit that doesn't fully fit.
