  1. straight grounding the parking brake wire will not work. The radio requires you to disengage the ebrake then engage it after the radio has been powered up. if you just ground the wire there's no way you can simulate this. There are a few ways to get around this. The simplest way is to just hook up a toggle switch between the ebrake wire and ground so you can flick it on and off when needed. You can also purchase a bypass on ebay or amazon that will automatically simulate this for you. The last way only works on the avic nex units and that's to press the bottom left corner of the screen f
  2. do you have a push button start vehicle?
  3. this is a common issue with nex units. i have a scion tc rs7 push button and mine does the same thing. i just put it on accy before starting the engine and it works 100% of the time.
  4. the only thing I can think of is to check your eq settings. if im not mistaken pioneer radios let you have a different eq setting for each source.
  5. There is a tweak called cydia impactor that lets you do a complete restore to you current firmware without having to upgrade. this way you can re jailbreak if that's not the issue. download it through cydia and run it right from your phone. I haven't tried it but it was made by saurik so I can assume its legit.
  6. Glad I can help. I've been installing professionally for the last 14 years and I always run into weird stuff like that.
  7. Its a problem with pioneer carplay units. the alpine carplay unit displays the artwork (via carplay) just fine with no dim issues.
  8. See if this topic applies to you. Some one else was having a similar issue and my suggestion seemed to work. (this applies to many Chryslers) http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/81413-nex4100-iphone-6-plus-no-siri-no-call-audio-jeep/
  9. I believe voicemails are treated as a A2DP as apposed to HF on the iphones end so you would hear the voicemails just fine but not calls.
  10. Not on the nex units, thank god. They finally removed the loudness setting.
  11. Ive run into this issue before. The wrangler more than likely has an oem amplifier. The harness behind the radio on an oem amplified system only uses the rear channels for signal when using an amp integrated harness. Since it is common practice for installers to hook up a wiring harness like normal (fronts to fronts and backs to back) this issue often gets overlooked. What many people dont know is with blutooth call audio and siri etc, the voice only comes out of the front speakers outputs on the pioneer radio. Since the vehicle only uses the rear speaker inputs that means the front outpu
  12. I have a fully upgraded audio system in my car (amps and all) and I use carplay all the time and it sounds great to me.
  13. If you are looking for the kind of bass a sub woofer gives you then 6x9s aren't going to do it. Aftermarket interior speakers are generally designed to give you a clearer mids and highs. They are usually made with a "component" set up in mind. Interiors give you your vocals/instrumentals and the sub woofer gives you your bass. To get the best sound possible, upgrade your interior speakers and get a sub woofer to fill in the bass your interiors can not play. if you cant get through your firewall then just have it professionally done.
