1. i dont really think these things are warranties of any sort.. I think they should be classified as "service plans". My 2 cents, i could be wrong.
  2.
Get security film for your windows! 8) Watch the video on this site if you need convincing: http://www.usace.com/auto.htm
wow! impressive.. I am also from Miami. Is there anyone local that has this film and can install it correctly? Thanks
  3.
It occurs to me I can solve all of these problems with the HDD and Aux input, and DVD video with a modded X-box installed in the truck. I could then FTP music and Video (Divx, Xvid, whatever) from my P/C in the house to the Truck out at the Curb via Wi-Fi. Anyone out there have any advice for mounting an X-box (Non-360) to a vehicle?
genius idea. thanks. try mp3car.com forums for installing the xbox in the car. it'd be interesting to install a switch or a portable in car wireless gateway with a sprint evdo card, that way you can have wire
  4.
Hopefully it comes soon.... i probably should have opted for the overnight shipping, cuz i know the wait is going to kill me.
yessir u should have gotten overnight.. f it, you get that instant gratification faster..
  5.
And, as far as I can tell, there is nothing behind a sticker. I was hoping for that as well, but no luck.
Wow.. good luck man.. wish i had one to tinker with... im Praying to the pioneer gods of navigation that you find something. I think you will soon enough. thanks!
  6.
The mfr. date, mm/yyyy, will be on the sticker on the box, next to the serial number. And on the same sticker will be on the radio. I have a Z1. Dunno about the other models, but I would assume the same would apply :)
thanks for replying. maybe someone who just recently bought one of the new units can post up a detailed pic of the back side of the unit and someone with an old unit can post up a detailed pick on theirs so that everyone can see if there is something physicall different at least as far as the back of the unit is concerned. If i had ei
  7. well, nother quick question how do you decipher the serial number to determine the build date to see if you have a pre or post july model? thanks
  8.
Ok you jackals I ordered a Z1 from AbesOfMaine (it's where I ordered my first one). Hopefully I get a "fixed" one and if so, I'm going to take it apart and see if I can figure out what might be done for bypassing the new units. This is a very expensive test for me, but I'm going to do it.
wow thats dedication man, thanks for doing this as i like so many others would definitely be buying your new flasher circuit. Does your testing involve any oscilloscopes? or are you more inclined to do some software work on figuring this out? thanks again,
  9.
To be honest, I think they changed it because of me. These companies know about these types of forums.
With all due respect sir, i dont think this is true. I think that there probably was an internal dialogue as far as the legal liability of someone crashing because they bypassed the moving lockouts and they decided they just didnt want to have to face that liability.
And they watch them. When it was a manual flashing of the headlights they can say the person knew about it and did something on purpose to bypass the lockouts.
10. btw a friend at a local dealer today told me that the book price (cost) on the z1 unit for them is like 1575.00 not sure whether i believe it or not but he had no reason to lie to me i had already told him i was buying elsewhere.
  11.
I had no idea Pioneer changed the software on units made in/after July, thank God I got one made a few months earlier... There might be some dealers here in MI that have some "older" units available.
just passed by my local popular car audio shop and the guy there said the july units were working with the on off light flashing thing, so im not sure which way to go on this till there is more detailed information on some of the newer units.
  12. can anyone confirm or deny these new changes for july units?

    D1 vs Z1 ?
But the grooves hold long slim razor blades like the type used in floor scrapers. The harder they pull the deeper it cuts. I have chain maille butchers gloves for the install.
WOW, razor blades, thats awesome, we need pics!!!! thing is needing Chain Maille gloves just to install, thats taking it a bit far isnt it? but then again i dont know where you live.. Maybe you live in the cocaine capital like me.. MIA..

    D1 vs Z1 ?
I'm of the "bolt em down" mentality. My Z1 is held in by a 1/4" steel plate and nylock nuts.
It is my belief that nylock only prevents the nuts from loosening due to vibration, but they are still removable easily using regular wrenches no? (maybe stupid question)
My agent took pictures of all my equipment, and it's fully covered.
Best way!
My amps are hidden under the seat, and I changed the seat bolts with security torx bolts. The bolts that actually hold the amps to the floor are security torx too.
I
