  1. Just an update, in case anyone in the future has this issue and finds this thread. I pulled the unit out and put it on the counter for a couple of hours, was going to box it up and ship it back, but forgot I still had an SD card in the unit, so I plugged it in and pulled the card. For shits and giggles, I tried the gps and after about a minute of zero satellites, they all came back online! Not sure how long that will last, as I'm not willing to find out whether it goes out on my next road trip or not, but if it happens to you, try unplugging the head unit completely so there's no power at all
  2. Well, its not the antenna, so the unit is heading back to Pioneer now. Wish it was an easy fix, but I guess the unit's gps module is dead.
  3. Hi all, First post here, although I've been using this forum since I bought a brand new AVIC-D2 back around '06! I now own an 8100nex, and am now having issues with it after only 2 weeks of ownership! So here's the problem. Took off on a road trip to the west coast, approx. 7 hours, and about 2 hours in, the gps stops tracking me. I didn't know it until I got closer to my destination, but the nice part was that when it stopped finding gps, it also locked me on the map in the exact spot it died! I now have zero satellites locked, no signal whatsoever, but it shows antenna being "OK"
  4. Page 32 of the online pdf manual: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/StaticFiles/Manuals/Car/AVIC-8100NEX_OperationManual021915.pdf I believe you're looking for the 2D "north up" mode, as that "locks" the orientation of the map to always be north at the top of the screen. This is not available in 3d for obvious reasons.
