  1. Has anyone tried out any of these newer adapters and gotten them to work? And why can we not seem to get a straight answer on here about wether or not the Scoche passport works with the AVIC-D3 or not. Some people seem to indicate that it does, but others say no. If someone out there has gotten it to charge their iphone 3G or newer generation ipod, please let us know and tell us how you did it. I am not looking for video functionality, I just want the music playthrough ability and to keep my phone charged at the same time.
  2. Hehe, I asked the same question in another thread and I see the poster in my thread that tried it out responded to yours as well. The consensus is it is a no go on trying that out. Just get a 5th generation while they are still around. I finally just bought one off the apple web site, brand new. They still have them under the clearance section for the 30GB for $179. Everyone says this is really a better ipod than the classic is anyways. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Hehe, yeah...So I guess that would be a no then. Thanks for trying it out.
  4. I know I could, but I don't even have the ipod classic yet. I am on the fence wether or not to buy that one, or just go with a refurb 5th generation. If I had the classic, believe me I would have tried this out for shure...Anyone else.
  5. I have searched these threads quit extensively, but have not seen anything for certain. I am wondering if we take an ipod classic and hook it into the universal dock from apple and then hook the pioneer ipod cable into the back of the dock, will the video work? I have seen people mention it, but I have not seen anyone who has tried it giving their imput. I kinda hate to buy a refurb 5.5 gen ipod for like 200$, when I can get a brand new 6th gen 80GB classic for like 50$ more and the new classic has more software features etc... Someone please try this out and report on it....
  6. Man this is really bad. When are they going to get it together and get this issue fixed. Apple says it is not them, Pioneer says it is not them. I fear that this feature will just not ever be possible with the new ipods. Oh well, I guess that I will continue to stay away from buying one for now.
  7. Has anyone with the ipod classic downloaded and installed the new firmware update to ver. 1.1? Does it help with the video of the avic-d3? Anyone try it out yet.... Let me know. I have not bought the classic yet but want to if it works.
  8. crap, are you serious. I bought this off anther guy and I know he bought it from an authorized dealer back in April, but I am not sure if he still has the receipt. I may have to pay out of pocket for these repairs??!! This is not cool. I hope the guy can find the receipt for his purchase. I wonder how much this repair is liable to cost.
  9. Guys, I just bought my AVIC-D3 a couple months ago and all of a sudden the other day I look down and noticed a little thin green line that popped up on the far righthand side of the screen. I tried everything with shutting it off and on, changing sources etc.. and the line was still there. Then I went over some bumps on the road and it went away!!! A couple days later, the line came back, after a bit more vibration driving around, it went away again. What the heck is doing this! Is something in the LCD screen going bad or is it just picking up interference from something? Please h
