  1. Worked all day without any major hiccups. Still not completely convinced though.

  3. Ok, it may be premature and may jinx myself, but so far, so good! It is the longest this unit has worked for a few days. I did everything in this list. I'm putting it through it's paces and trying to make it crash...so far nothing. Fingers crossed.
  4. I'm having random reboots/crashes and sometimes no music playing when i see the counter moving as if it is playing. I've heard the screeching (which I think is Siri's ding repeating over and over). I am so disappointed so far. I have my iphone 6 updated to iOS 9.2. I'm running 1.03 firmware on my AVIC-8100. I am going to try a replacement unit, and if that doesn't work, I'm going to downgrade to the 8000 and if that doesn't work, I'm going to give up and maybe try the non-carplay Alpine unit for the Escalade.   5. I had a AVIC-8100 NEX installed last week. Almost from the beginning it has crashed/rebooted randomly. I am using an iPhone 6. Sometimes it crashes/reboots when I touch the "messages" icon in carplay. Sometimes the "phone" icon. Sometimes holding the "home" button to activate Siri causes it to crash. Sometimes when people call into my phone while it's hooked to carplay it crashes. I love the looks of this head unit, and I want it to work correctly. I was hoping it was just a lemon and that a replacement would fix it. Now, after reading your posts, I'm starting to have my doubts. I ha
