i believe the the amp wire is supposed to have voltage all the time so the beeps can be heard for the nav side even if the audio side is off, but the antenna wire shouldnt, you should be able to go into the menu and turn the antenna from "power" to "radio" and then the antenna should be up only when the radio is the selected source and not any other time thats what i want.can you tell me how do find that menu?

This is in a 94 impala ss.the blue wire and the amp wire has power coming out of it even with tge radio off.as long as the key is on.I did hook it up to a. switch.that works but I know its not right.after reading the manual I thought there was a way to turn that feature off in the menu of the radio?

is there a way to disable the auto antenna fuction? i have the blue auto ant wire hooked up to my power ant lead but my ant goes up everytime i start the car with the radio off.

im if i didnt see how to do it on here.but looking where i plug the ip-bus into on the avic n3? does it go to the back of the head unit or the brain? thanks for any help

thank you.about the manual i found that but didnt want to print out 60 pages. on the remote was hoping someone had a used one they was not using anymore. i just upgraded from the N1 to N3 and my remote for the N1 only works the volume. thanks for the links

have a avic-n1 that has been working great up till a couple months ago.now i have nothing coming from the speed senor pulse.it reads 0 and no mph.1st time i notice this i did get a error saying eratic speed senor or somthing like that.but now its nothing.i checked the vss wire going to the brain box and im getting power to there.plus i noticed the compass part isnt right.is there someting wrong with my brain box??everything else works fine. thanks

found out how to get to the service menu but dont know the setting to calabrate it right.

I'm going with batman on this one.i have been told the same thing by several people NOT to use the tach wire.it will work but will not be accurate.

its a 94...the 95,96 had it in the radio harness but 94 never had that feature.i was told it a green with white strip.but where?? thanks

i bought a used N1 and there are two sets of nav DVDs in there.of course east and west coast but two of each.they are version 1.1 and 1.2.both work fine with out messing up the bypass.yes they are series 40. gold

thats true on the 95-96 impala but not the 94.the 95and96 had the speed volume control in the radio harness. the 94 never had that feature. so.... still waiting for someone to come up with the correct answer..not in the form of a question.
