Thank You all, I took a chance with the boot disk and like rar works, i chose the restore file that ended in 20120 hoping it worked like rar causing it to open the other rar files ie.. xxx.0rar then xx1.rar and so on. '' IT WORKED THANKS AGAIN, I CAN ALWAYS TRUST ON AVIC411. I was just a bit confused about the partition part. but like ghost32 its just a mirror image. Be well Gents!!! From Miami FL

wow, thread went off course...... I have an unlocked 80gb drive, I got the torrent that contains a few file like z3 - 201210 20121 and so on like a rar file is compresses having the main rar file end in 0 and then this un-rar's the rest of the files. I am assuming this is the same way the CD boot works, I made an image back up of my drive before doing a recovery. I selected recovery z3-20120 and the recover file to overwrite the harddrive as a image with partitions I hope I guess rights,,,, well see, since acronis doen;t work on my windows. . UPDATED: It worked

Yes I did with admin rights. I can see my AVIC hard drive on my pc with all the partition. The torrent i got from here had a pdf instruction and a bunch of labels 2012, 2011,2011 and so one, I spent the night reading threads giving better details how to install , when I open the first partition of the avic drive, is has a bunch of folders in two digit numbers, file structure looks nothing like the PDF. I get LDATA SDATA MSV and USER. I tried using the boot cd but that was a bit complicated, didn't know what file to restore so i wouldn't mess up the drive or what partition to apply it to....

What's up fellas', i have crowed out from under a rock after a few years, I still love my AVIC z2!! with my unlocked drive. I have breezed thru this thread for updating my map to 2012 and got a lot of good intel. However, I didn't find a torrent and burned it using POWER ISO onto a Memorex DVD-Rdl Disk. But the head unit cant read the disk. I'm did I miss something? Any pointers would be great and thanks in advance. The torrent name was CNDV_110MTUC1_A 7.32GB ISO or should i just pull out my unlocked drive and image the iso onto it. via PC NEXUS!MIAMI PS: if i can get a good iso,

A/V inputs are the way to go, you can even y off the rear AV and hook up a DVR. A low Lux Camera with a IR blaster would give you nightvision driving. FYI

There is a Z3 I just installed it yesterday, it comes with google earth Live GPS tracking and sonar. badass! Take a look. yeah right, I don't think Pioneer is going to come out with anymore Z Series. Technology is changes as always and the demand for more features will have to come in a new design. I haven't really looked around but I just dont understand why the Z1 cost more then the Z2.?. cheers.

lol. it was a concept I came up with to see how the Z1 could be used. The forward looking camera should be a thermal camera for dense fog driving. A lot of the high end car will be coming with such a feature. I have incorporated the avic along with a Pocket DVR (Digital Video Recorder) to capture the rear, forward and cabin mic to an 8 gig SD card. They system records both cameras and any source I route to the rear video output of the avic for up to 4 hours. Like a little black box.
