  1. I believe I would buy the unit again. I was not one of the ones who received the pre-update units so perhaps my experience with the unit was not bad enough to warrant change. I am thankful for those who unknowingly became pioneers QA division when they received their units first. Their input saved Pioneer and prepped me well for the install. I see the F-Series improving as time goes on.
  2. Did you get the preset up/down to work for you? This may be something to try. I have had no problem getting the unit to work with the up/down on the 900BT, but when driving around, I can not get the PAC to tune down. I will try programming with the engine on to see what that does. Thanks for the tip! Edit: Tip applied and now everything works without problems!
  3. If you only knew the happiness you have spread throughout the world with this update! Thanks for the heads up!
  4. Optimism is good.. yes, no?
  5. I'm about to be one of them. The only thing holding me to the 900BT is the custom bezel being made for the car so I can do a double din. If they have not started it yet, I'm going to the DNX8120. I don't mind waiting for a good product, but waiting an indefinite amount of time is unexceptable.
  6. Try to have a little faith in the firmware update. Even with a computer that is slow to boot can be tweaked with a few settings. For example, if you go into a computer's bios and turn off quick boot, that can increase startup time by a few seconds as you watch it count every byte of memory it has. Next you could try increasing the virtual memory on your PC a couple of gigs to get a hefty performance decrease. ;o) They may even change the order at which certain programs boot up. For instance, most people do not intend to start their car simply to use their phone threw their car setup.
  7. I think you need a collecting dust category. I have still purchased the 900bt due to the feeling of many problems being software correctable. The word is out about the flaws and I believe Pioneer is not sitting around doing nothing about the issue. When the smoke clears, I still hope to fill the hole in my dash with a Pioneer F.
  8. When JasonH was reviewing the AVIC-F90 on this forum, he stated that the compus will only point North in 2D mode and he couldn't get it to change either.
  9. I have a question about the AVIC-N1 that I hope the individuals on this forum can help me with. Basicly the GPS on my system is dead. The compuss(sp?) does not track, the map does not detect motion, the speed sensor does not track speed. In the system status menu, the speed pulse does show a signal when the car is in motion, the GPS antenna shows the connection as ok but the antenna will not pick up a signal anywhere. Things I have tried: I have reset the unit multiple times with no luck. I have disconnected all cables and reconnected with no change I have recycled power on the unit
