  1. Try removing the avic from your dash. The disc is most likely on top of the unit and not actually in the slot. There are a few threads here where others have done exactly the same You might feel like a dummy when you realize what happened, but evryone makes mistakes.
  2. I upgraded my storm to v.109 and the contacts transferred over on the first try. BT audio has always worked for me.
  3. My storm connected first try. Make sure you register your phone after you pair it. Now, as afar as transferring contacts, I'm still trying to get that to work. Software version is v4.7.0.75 (Platform 4.0.0.94)
  4. My storm connected first try. I have the 2008 maps as well. The one thing it won't do, is transfer contacts. I'm gonna try the blueftp thing and see if that works.
  5. Lots of us have the 2008 version. You to can have it, just take a look "around".
  6. There is a wire from your avic that hoooks up to the reverse wire of your vehicle (you need to use the wire from the avic harness because it has a resistor which I believe cuts the voltage to 5 volts instead of 12) and the camera will have a separate power wire that needs to see a 12volt source which you can wire directly to your reverse wire of your vehicle. This way, when you put your vehicle in reverse the camera will turn on and the avic will switch to the correct video input.
  7. We should all be glad that they don't use the VSS wire for this function or we would be screwed on the D3, since tou can't really hack the software. Do the bypass and forget about it.
  8. Anytime you don't buy the "retail" version of software, you run the risk of having problems. It's just a roll of the dice, sometimes it works , sometimes it doesn't. Can't really complain if you didn't pay for the software, just work through it and you will eventually find a good "copy".
  9. Definitely boots faster. Anytime you "update" you will have to reload your custom screens as they are set back to the default setting. Didn't see much difference with the map, however, the phone number search works better IMO.
  10. That is correct, but if your connection is not good and the therefore the Avic does not see a ground signal, you get the message. "Smart" is the last word that comes to mind when I think of the Avic.

    LG Dare

Pairs no problem and the phonebook pushes with no hiccups.
  12. Parking brake wire is just looking for a ground. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Called Pioneer.

Only if you buy an AVIC-N5 unit. They aren't being sold separately yet. Maybe you can't "buy" them, but they are "available".
  14. I believe it is set to change by default.
  15. Yes, you don't have the illumination lead connected. (orange wire)
