How to keep my D3 .......?
cntrylvr79 replied to tommy_the_revelator's topic in Security/Stolen AVIC's
The only way to keep someone out of you car wuld be to replace the windows with steel, and remove all key cylinders from the car. An alarm is only going to draw attention to a car that's being broken into. So a good installer, and a couple of LOUD sirens are what you need. -
Please help me with this D3, 3rd unit not right

Ya know, I do that ALL the time, and I've had my avic for a while.... -
The dash kit should have come with 4 1/4" spacers on a plstice tree. If not, pm me I think I have some left over at work.
-
As stated above it's a tight ass fit, but it does fit.
-
Test it before you put the car together. Sometimes the orange/white wire will not work on the avic depending on the level your dimmer is at. If it doesn't then there's a green/white wire in the harness that runs to the rear of the car on the driver's side. That's the +parking light wire. That'll work for an illumination tap.

Not really you'd be better off finding a pinhole camera that fit's into the hole.

2006 Impala - Is VSS wire in OEM harness?
cntrylvr79 replied to BuffaloSS's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
New body style or old body style. If you don't know, post a pic of the dash. That'll help. -
And you get an edited/locked post from your friendly neighborhood mod.

You're better off just wiring the camera to ignition power. If you're intent on wiring a relay off your reverse lights, then here's the RIGHT way to do it in an altima. 30 - to + wire of backup camera 87 - to + 12volts ignition or constant don't matter just has to be capable of supplying enough current to power the camera. 85 - to ground 86 - to reverse wire in car.

Yea it can take anywhere from 2-20 miles to go from initializing to simple or 3d hybrid.

Retain all factory controls when installing in 2003 Tahoe?
cntrylvr79 replied to titow's topic in General
To verify #3, the rear controls are not supported by any interface I've seen. though I'm sure if you find the right person and heap enough money infront of them they'd find a way to do it. -
Pretty sad information you're feeding these people. All vehicles have a VSS wire that transmits a Digital DC signal... Whether it be a wheel speed sensor, cam/crank sensor, VSS on the trans it consists of: A reluctor (toothed wheel) Magnetic Pickup Coil of wire They're all digital... As for ANALOG signals (TPS, MAP, MAF) most of them need to be converted to Digital DC so the PCM can understand the signal. When he says "digital" he means they're DATA signals or the vss signal itself is pulsed outside the range the avic can handle (most newer chryslers).

+ 14 cents here for remote start. My opinion's worth more

Maybe he thought he was seeing jesus coming from the glow of his dash at night?
-
No I'm not, here's pictures of the discs.
-
Since there's at least 4 different interfaces I know of for that vehicle, what's the model number of the one you used?
-
There's a thread around here mentioning the exact same problem, and what's causing it. There is currently no fix for it. Has something to do with searching.
-
They operate totally independent of each other.
-
Hard coded for region 1 playback only. I haven't heard of anyone modding it to play other region coded discs. So you might want to save your money.

Nope 07 rustang it's some other color at the pcm under the hood. Sorry.
