Well damn disappear for a few years and everything's gone and changed. I'm not even the king postwhore anymore... Guess I should apologize to the 100 odd pms I never replied to. Oh well such is life. Just figured I'd stop in and say hi. Still rocking my D1. And for anyone that might remember yes I finished the dash bezel. No I don't have pics since my cars been sitting in the shop for the last month while I've been rebuilding the head. Damn timing belt shredded 20k miles early and took out 4 valves. Hey its been a learning experience. Never been that deep into a motor before. Good practice though since I'm starting school at the end of June to be a mechanic. Oh almost forgot my wife had a baby last June. Samantha and I have to say a rugrat just makes all of the stupid day to day shit just melt away when she smiles. Oh well off to work. I'll try and get back to forum trolling a bit more often.

Do the amps turn off when you shut the car off. IF they do, then your fine the blue/white wire of the d1 outputs even when the radio is turned off so the amps will still work for voice nav.

sounds like a wiring issue. If you have a meter check to make sure your getting a good bround and power at the battery terminal of the amp and remote lead.

shold be working. I have the same setup with my d1 and my 80gb classic. Make sure tv out is enabled on the ipod.

illumination wire can be hooked up to the dimmer wire. The orange/black negative dimmer doesn't get used. Tape it up. Don't ground it. No need to hook up reverse if you're not going to use a backup camera.

Can the f700bt be programmed to cycle through radio presets using SWI-PS steering wheel controls(up/down)? Right now those buttons are just seeking to whatever the next station frequency is available.

I just installed my D3 and it is ALWAYS on! Even when i take the key out of the ignition, it stays on. I don't wanna drain the battery and the only way to turn it off is to disconnect the battery. What could cause this to happen and what should I start looking at first?
Oh by the way i have the ipod and bluetooth connected to the head unit if that matters...

where did you wire the red wire? it sounds like its coming in contact with the yellow wire or another constant power source...make sure its wired to the accessory wire on the OEM harness
The red wire is connected to the red wire on the gmos-04 harness.. Is it supposed to be connected to the stock harness?
Got a bad interface then. There is no accessory in new gms that's the other reason why you need the interface.

pink/green is positive illumination wire in the factory harness. Pink/blk is the negative one.
The D3 is also selectible in the settings for either a positive or negative. It comes default as positive.
Some installers for some reason believe hooking dimmer wires up causes problems, which is not true. Hooking things up wrong, like combining these wires is the real issue, or it's just simply random burned out bulbs in dashes.
Bring it back, and have them call their tech support.
The d3 has selectable polarity for the reverse camera input, no the illumination.

No the excessive vibration warning comes up when the radio is too loose in the mounting kit. Or in the rare occacsion that the motor shakes the car too violently. I go with option 1 though in a new rustang.

Both must be powered. You can daisy chain the power together though.

FULL signal like I said. 8 sats locked and 3 bars. and the cars an 03 galant.

Sounds like you have the ipbus cable in the wrong port for those sources. Try swapping them.

Do you have an SWI-CAN as well? If not, then there's your problem. You need that piece to hook up to the 2 wires they list. Then the green wire of the SWI-PS gets connected to the SWI-CAN.

I must say overall the changes to the gui are welcome. Being able to search the ipod by letter is great. Took long enough for that one. Not a problem stinking up 3 different bt phones.
My only question to you guys is there a connection status screen anymore. Couldn't find one and kinda ran out of time to play with it.

If you hook the mute wire of a radio to the interface it won't turn off the radio it'll mute it.

Doubt it's either problem. Where is the ground connection. In the harness or to metal in the dash.

Thanks guys. I guess the rest of the oldtimers have moved on. Ehh such is life. Ill do my best to lay some smack down. But its been a long time. Though it looks like i have to update the pic in my sig.
