  1. well i figured the harness thing out. but now i need to figure out how to make the factory dvd player in the rear to work now. any ideas?
  2. i recently got a 2004 Tahoe and have ordered the avic n4. The car has a bose system and i was wondering what kind of warness i will be needing to install this. I had a N2 in my old car and i installed myself but i have no experience with the Bose systems and was looking for some insight on this. Any kind of information that can be provided is very much appreciated. thanks guys in advance.
  3. thanks man i think i will just send it in without doing anything to the bypass. hopefully they wont mess with it at all.
  4. no its not under warranty anymore but i didnt know if they would do any work to it if it was bypassed. if they would still do work on it then i will leave it how it is. cause i know its not under warranty anymore.
  5. i had a question. i have to send my n2 into pioneer for repairs and i have the bypass done. do i need to undo the bypass to send it in or will it matter.
  6. i have a buddy that has an N2 and i made a copy of my discs that i ordered on the internet for my n2 so i used the same disc as i used on my n2 to do the update and on his it went through the whole update and then it said update complete and it restarted except when it restarted it said please insert appropriate disc again. now it is stuck on that screen and you cant use anything but the ipod adapter and the radio because the screen is stuck on that screen that says please insert appropriate disc. if anyone has ever had or heard of this problem please give me some advice. thank you very much
  7. The only thing i can think of is that they tried it and messed it up so they cleaned it up and messed up the contacts. i dont know what to tell you there. just see if you can get them to make contact and make sure that the parking brake wire is grounded. if that wont work i dont know what to tell you. sorry.
  8. yea it you were to mess up which you shouldnt cause it is a lot easier than it sounds but if you were to mess up then it cleans up really easy. i did mine and let it dry for about 2 hours or so to make sure. when i did it it touched the metal beside it and i just used a knife and scraped that part off that was touching the metal and it came off easy. i would say that the circuit writer pen would be the way to go.
  9. yea you can find them at radio shack for about 7 dollars. just connect the two pins but make sure that the ink doesnt touch the metal thats beside it. it is really easy to do. i dont know much about this kind of stuff and it was a breeze.
  10. i have. all i did was used the circuit writer pen to connect the two pins and ground the parking brake wire and all works well. no problems at all. navigation and everything still works.
  11. so the system has to boot with the parking brake wire wired normally then you can ground it to get nav functions while driving? what about the solder bypass can you do that before the unit boots because i havent installed the unit yet but needed to know whether or not you could do it before the unit is installed?
