  1. It will go into night mode when it sees the headlamps turn on provided the radio is wired correctly
  2. I just did my 7000, it took firmware and bluetooth updates no problem
  3. Assuming that you are connected through the rca connections, different radios have different output voltages on the rca's, the NEX are not very high powered and may require you to turn the gain up on the amp to compensate
  4. I am not Ted, but I am semi in the know. I have seen and used Carplay with both Ios7 and Ios8 phones on an 8000, its coming along but not done yet, I have no other information at this time...
  5. What I can tell you is that Pioneer has not finishing coding it as of yet, it is the works but still very buggy, thats all I can say...
  6. I had this also happen yesterday but after restarting the car is cleared itself up, I hope this is not going to turn into a hardware defect!
  7. Pac makes an external ir sensor that connects to the steering wheel control input, I have it on my Z130 and it works fine with the Pioneer remote control, I imagine it would also work with these radio's
  8. All of my music is ripped in Apple lossless and plays off my iPod just fine, I don't know what quality it actually plays but it does play...
  9. I have an iPhone 5 with a 7000NEX, I went through all this hoopla to get the app mode to work and honestly it sucks, if I were to do it all again I wouldn't ever bother, I just use a lighting cable and I am very happy. The other consideration is that car play is coming at some point and we do not know how that is going to connect. I really wouldn't bother with app mode at this point IMHO
  10. I am the one that had this problem, you iPod is not a classic making it to old, upgrading to a new model with solve your problem. If in doubt, connect you iPod to a computer and check the software version and compare it what I posted
  11. I can understand why this happened as I did the same thing, there is a yellow cable on the radio that is labeled backup camera.
  12. I gotta say Apple is very good about updates on older models
  13. Yes I have a few posts about this, i seems that only the current & last generation classic's work correctly, if you look up my post I have version numbers & findings
  14. I have been able to over come all of the issues with this unit except the bluetooth & usb combo, it is absolutely ridiculous! All of my past Pioneers have been able to do this. I also do not like the fact of no remote control and even worse no ir sensor to built in, this is a $1 dollar part at best. There is a pac part that will add this ability but this really should be standard equipment on such an expensive unit. The usb/bluetooth issue may force me to return this unit, I may try a high end Sony at his point. I have no evidence but I am thinking that this is a hardware issue rather
  15. Really what they should do is have an option to have the guidance volume tied to the overall system volume, if I have the radio loud do to lets say the windows down I would like the voice louder... Perhaps I will try the auto volume and see if that works
  16. Figured out it was the iPod, I was using a 5th Generation 80 gig, changing to a Classic 80 gig it works perfectly
  17. ***Solved**** Turns out it was the iPod, Here's the model info if anyone is interested: 5th Generation 80 gig software version 1.3 will start at the beginning after each ignition cycle although if connected to an AVIC-Z130bt works fine iPod classic 80 gig software version 1.1.2 works perfectly
  18. I have some other posts about iPods forgetting their place. I have an iPhone connected to usb 1 and an iPod classic connected to usb 2, smartphone setup to usb/iphone. If I play pandora, then switch back to iPod mode (the phones iPod) it actually continues to play pandora and show that information on the screen outside of saying iPod on the top, after you reselect your music then is goes back to normal, this is a huge pita that is driving me nuts. I called Pioneer and they say that this is normal but the lady really didn't sound very bright as I had to explain this about 20 times. The othe
  19. Wow that would be great, I never would have imagined to look at a setting like that, I will give it a try tomorrow, thanks much!!!
  20. I find mine to be quiet loud also and have turned it down, I was using it yesterday and it seemed good for a while and I think that when I stopped for lunch it became quite a bit louder after the restart, perhaps try adjusting the regulator volume control and changing sources and see if anything affects it...
  21. The main thing I do not like about the gps is that it does not tell you verbally what street to turn on, it instead tells you in so many feet to turn, Yes it does show you on the screen but it would be much better to tell you verbally imho. I went for a nice ride over the weekend and it performed very well.
  22. I am using an iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1 with a 7000 and have no problems so far
  23. Awesome find on the slider, I must have missed that. As far as the iPod, this seems to be the disappointing normal workings of the unit. If the smart phone setup is on anything other than iPhone & usb then neither usb port to work with an iPod...
  24. o.k. thanks so much, that gives me hope, I don't know the version but I know the software is up to date, I will have to get my hands on another iPod and see what's going on...
