  1. Just installed / Updated using the following: FujiFilm DVD+R Dual Layers (onlything futureshop had) Software wise: power2Go DVD writer that came with something.. not sure what 4x default settings Worked flawlessly. put the disk in and it ran through everything. Things i've noticed so far routing maps in the toronto area / Niagara region seems about 2x as fast as it was on the 07 factory printed disk. not sure why, but the unit overal seems a lot more responsive
  2. i'm getting the same issue. I'm in a 2006 vibe, so it's a standard antenna that stays up all the time. I've got near perfect if not perfect FM reception, but AM is not there. it's quiet at best, and crackly if it gets anything. i have to crank the volume to 20 to just hear it
  3. Thats why i'm still happy with my D3. I have had complaints. it's not perfect. you could easily build / buy a system that takes care of all these complaints and works much much better But for the cost of the D3? its a good deal
  4. this happens if the software can't establish control over the ipod. i get this when i try connecting the ipod at the wrong time. usually during the first 30 seconds of the car turning on. Best bet. Either wait for the radio interface to come up fully first, Or plug it in before you turn the car on.
  5. small example myself:p Downtown Toronto BMO feild where the Toronto FC plays. Definately not on the map though it was created and finished over a year ago. they have a road going RIGHT through it. made for interesting drive last week
  6. same, it uses the "dead recognition" for lcoation a lot more than it needs to. GPS is supposed to be accurate within 5 - 10ft of your current location. My dell had no problems with this, But my D3 has problems telling when i'm going on or off the collectors / Express, or on certain ramps. Especially confusing the Gardiner and Lakeshore a lot because they're nearly on top of eachother. Again, the Navteq Dell had NO problems with this Seriously, Pioneer, hope this was a good lesson
  7. The only complaint i have so far is the D3 mapping software. As mentioned. it's downright retarded on a lot of the routes. "fastest" should automatically take me to the nearest highway instead of busy downtown streets just to save me 3 Km's. However, I have activated the "show multiple routes" option, and now i can select one of 6 routes when i enter the destination, i find that one of the routes tends to be pretty good. I recommend using this option instead of letting the D3 pick for you. In the end, I think Pioneer did themselves a large disservice to themselves by attemtping
  8. same with me this forum alone helped make my decision that much easier and alowed me to do the full install all on my own so that it works fully Thanks!
  9. i'm confused.. so this is not an integrated device but a ad on like a very very fancy and sexy GPS could this mean that some of the firmware could also be ported to the D3? I Imagine hardware wise it might be very similar
  10. - see the mp3-information (track, album, etc)? NO - change album no, track yes etc? - shuffle? yes this might change depending on the mp3 player and the blutooth options. This is how it works with my phone
  11. Well, i use on occasion the Blue Tooth audio with my cell phone. if i forget my ipod i always have about 1 gig of backup music on my cell. the controls are limited, But they do work very well
  12. Those colors are correct. WHich of the two power supplies should the BT receiver be plugged into. I have plugged mine into the switched power and not the constant. I'm wondering if this is causing my connection problems. the receiver is working fine but i have to manually reconnect my phone everytime i getinto the car to fully use it
  13. if you did the bypass correctly, i dont believe you would have plugged into the speed sensor with the speed sensor plugged in, it'll dissable the screen. when you do the bypass you have to ground the speed sensor
  14. if it's really cheap it'll be perfect. put the ipod and the ipod cable out of sight and youv'e got yourself an almost permanent MP3 hard drive for it. as long as you're not watching videos where you need to see the screen to start, your D3 does everything you'd do on the screen anyways. heck, the D3 even takes over for the ipod and doesnt let you use the clickwheel to control it when plugged in.
  15. Release schedule for new map updates for their main performers (Dx, Nx, Zx) products? named better map routing or using another companies product?
