If you got it via eBay+PayPal, file a complaint and you'll get your money back. eBay/PayPal almost always side with the buyer with their Buyer Protection program.

Thank you for the help! I was able to resurect my AVH-W4400NEX as well! I bough a SanDisk Industrial micro SDHC 16GB card and I used the IMG linked in the first post (credit to Jamesl75). It appears that the image is only 8GB but using a bigger card does not seem to hurt. I had already removed the radio and I had forced the display mechanism open but if I was doing it all over again I would keep the radio installed in the car, put the display in the SD Card eject position, disconnect the battery and cut the slot in situ. No need to remove the radio. My slot did not end up looking pre
