  1. I'm getting the same thing with the north american east disc. It works fine for about 40 minutes and then the screen will flutter and then just stop the sytem turns off....restarts....turns off etc., It onlys seems to do this if I put in a destination/router etc., If I'm not nagivating it is fine. Can I just go BACK to the 90MT? Are there any issues if I put the old disc in? Thanks,
  2. I gave up. The sound of the stock mic is so much better and looks better but I wasn't sure how to do it myself....so I just went with the pioneer one.
  3. Thanks for that tip. I know I have the correct password. I get pretty crazy about stuff like this...at lunch I just went in and reflashed...saying what the hell...It's going to costs me $250 (with shipping) to have Pioneer fix it. May as well wreck it and buy something less annoying. Funny thing....problem solved. No more password. I can't beleive they charge $200 for that. I've bought alot of Pioneer stuff over the years but this thing has caused me to re think.
  4. I've seen the posts questioning whether the unit is stolen. My unit is NOT stolen. I can provide a fax/pdf of receipt / pictures with original boxes etc., if anyone can IM and help me. I put a brake controller in my truck today. Took the negative off the battery. I made sure I had my manual with the password written down before I did this. It won't accept the password. Where were you born...not a hard question but either I typed it wrong originally or something is up with the unit...for some reason I have another password written down. I've tried both and combinations of the two...n
  5. Search my posts. I have some detail on my install. I have a 1/2 tonne 2007 nbs. Don't hold me too it but I'm guessing they will not be a whole lot different. The steering wheel wire will be right there when you take out the stock. Read the PAC SWIPS instructions carefully and you'll have no problem there. I have the details of my interface but double check to ensure they work with both. My Onstar works fine. Came with the chime module so all that annoying s**t still dings away. Metra for dash kit. It comes closest to color match. Some small gaps in the top left of mine but
  6. sounds funny but i have alot of trouble typing on that thing qwerty would be a huge improvement.
  7. I have a 2007 NBS silverado with Onstar. It looks like there are microphones overhead to the left of the driver and in the center console. Has anyone tried to tap into these speakers and use them as the microphone for the bluetooth module? Is there any tips/ issues? Is it as easy as running a wire with a 1/8 jack from the BT module and then splicing into the existing microhpone?
  8. Well I thought I'd posts to help anyone else searching for this truck. Once your done it really isn't that complicated. I spent a lot of time searching, some PM's trying to decide what I needed to make this work. At the end here is what I did: Thanks for the posts on the bypass. I can't belive how many posts there are on this when it really was as easy as those stickied posts. 5 minutes tops. 2007 NBS 5.3 L Non Premium Sound I used the following: 1) PAC - OS3 - came with chime module and antenna adapater. Direcections where decent enough. Don't forget to set the volume
  9. Wow...I don't read well. That picture in the 2nd link on my original posts. That is right. My picture was the front of the same box. It's a bit tight (wrapped wires /up under dash) but I just slowly flipped it around and lo and behold it is right there. Tapped the green/white. Getting pulse now. Should be good to go. I can't believe how long I spent on this and the answer was right there the whole time.
  10. I've used a few Portable ones and found them to be suprisingly very good. How is it they are as good/better than the D3 for GPS naviagation when they don't have to be connected to VSS and there are no issues about antenna placement, angle of set-up etc., Just curious. I'm happy with my D3. It just seems odd that these little portable units perform so well without the issues of set-up.
  11. That's kind of what I expected. The dead battery just acts as a lead for the good power coming from the head unit/car battery
  12. I'm not saying it doesn't work. I haven't seen it yet. Guy seems decent on the phone. I was just worried that I buy it and 5 months from now the battery is dead and it is useless. If it still works hooked up to the D3 with a bad battery I'm good with that. Too bad it doesn't do the videos...having said that I'm not sure I'd be using it for videos while driving...or at least I shouldn't
  13. I don't plan on walking around with the IPOD so a dead battery doesn't concern me. I've never had one so I need to ask: Will the IPOD work with the D3 when plugged in with the IPOD cable even if the battery is bad? Also, will it work on my computer with the USB cable? I don't plan on being portable, I just don't want to buy one used if I run the risk of it not working. Kid on craigslist has an 80g classic for $130. Seemed to be a good enough deal. Thanks,
  14. That sounds like more work Are you saying I have to pull everything apart and grab that wire? I've never seen one posts suggesting it was there. Kinda makes sense. The stock radio had speed sensetivity. I was really hoping there would one right were I currently have it hooked up. Anybody else have an hopefully easier solution?
  15. This is the new style 1500 with a 5.3L. I have searched forever on this site and Google. I think I've read every post for this truck known to man. There are a few posts but seem contradictory and the one with a picture showing the tap under the driver side dash looks nothing like mine. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8776&highlight=vss+2007+silverado This one has a pic. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13507&highlight=vss+2007+silverado I tapped the green/white under the driver's dash. The D3 is showing standard mode. It shows a speed p
