  1. Just curious, but why would you want to? The 'learning' is what the unit does to sync up the input from your speed wire and its internal sensors to give greater accuracy along with the GPS signals.
  2. Map data only it says, of course. So much for the SW update dreams..
  3. Does the HD radio receiver respond to commands? Does the D3 recognize it? On the screen, does it appear to be receiving any stations? Can you 'use it' but just not hear it? If so make sure you have the IP-Bus cable in the correct connector on the HD Radio unit, or try switching connectors and see if you can hear it.
  4. The whine could come from a number of places.. Bad ground in the harness, bad ground on your amp, an accessory connected to the system that also..has a bad ground. Typically what I do is ground all of the amps to one spot, and ground everything else in the system to the same ground wire the radio uses. (Other things being: XM Radio, Bluetooth adapter)
  5. Do you really want me to quote your own post? In the last line you said "im just double checking so i dont fry my RCAs like last time." Since the ground on the RCA should really only be carrying ground for the Audio signal, I don't see a pertinent reason to ground the shield of the RCAs to the chassis of the unit. If you feel like doing what you asked, by all means, go ahead.
  6. If you fried your RCA cables you've got some serious problems going on. I've never had a separate ground from the RCAs to the headunit.

  8. When you look at your screen does the compass in the corner always point 'Up' or does it turn as you turn?
  9. Does the AVIC stay on? It sounds like somehow the amp turnon isn't hooked up correctly.
  10. Yes but I doubt your windshield is 100% covered in tint, too. As for the OP, you should be fine with the non-metallic tint.
  11. I usually leave it in map view, but when on the road the driver's view. No, the GPS antenna is not directional. It determines direction by calculating your movement and also via the internal gyroscope.
  12. I had that happen to me prior to doing the 'mute wire' bypass. Once I did that part of the bypass I never saw it again. Others could chime in with their experiences tho..
  13. In order: If you want to do the bypass and don't care about OnStar automatically muting the stereo, then don't bother connecting to the yellow/black and do the bypass normally. Otherwise use another wire for the bypass from that harness. If you're doing the bypass, hook the brake wire up to the radio GROUND, not the GMOS Yes, you should be able to use the VSS and Reverse wires from the GMOS. Just make sure that they are what you think they are, don't just go by 'they match the color of the Pioneer harness'. Check the documentation to make sure they are what they look like.
  14. I have no idea how the bypass on the D3 could possibly affect the cruise control..
  15. Yes, you need the Pioneer GEX-P10XMT to receive NavTraffic.
