I have the n-1 upgraded to n-3..curious to see how it works...tired of paying for sirius

Well without the cds, once the avic is disconnected from the power source it asks for the cds so even if you had the brain it still wouldnt work...Im not going to call you stupid, i know what its like to be scammed/go for a deal that is "too good to be true". Odds are though the person who stole it was a retard and was not aware there was a hideaway unit, so they stole the indash+wiring OR someone managed to steal a bestbuy display one somehow, again neglecting the hideaway...id bet 99% its stolen

I just got my unit back today, I had him upgrade it from N1-N3 and also fix my buttons on my detachable face that werent working. Everything came out perfect. I was afraid at first to send it to some random person through ebay for thoughts of obviously having my unit stolen (plus my money) or worked on by someone who isnt a "professional". As free_refil said his service is great and he also gives you a 1yr warranty on the work he performs. If you need your avic fixed or upgraded, this is the person to do it, he DEFINITLY is NOT going to steal your unit or mess it up. A+

I know this thread is kind of old but I just sent out my unit to that guy on ebay, he apparently upgrades the N1-N3 and fixes the lockout plus gives you the east/west cds for 275-300 total. I'll let you guys know how it worked out if anyones interested.

So..whats the verdict on this? Has anyone figured out how to perfect this so it operates normally with no "little problems"? I really dont feel like soldering my N1 although I could do it, but id rather use a more simple solution
