  1. I have a D3 and aquired the 80MT the same way you did. I don't have the problem that you have. There seems to be a lot of trouble with the DL'd 80 discs. Mine are good for the most part but the unit occassionally locks up, where it didn't with the geniuine 70MT discs that came with it. I don't think we ever got really good copies of those discs.
  2. The latest nav disc will update the firmware.
  3. That harness has everything that you need. If you look at the diagram that's included you will see a wire for the dimmer and acc. I have an 07 Jetta, and did the install with that harness.
  4. For those who are asking about Michigan, it is on the new west disc.
  5. I downloaded it and burned a disc. I haven't tried it yet, but will soon. I'm seeding it too to do my part. Thanks guys for putting this up and If anyone finds an east disk out there let us know and put it up.
  6. I just wanted to say thanks to both allsounds and infinkc. I appreciate the trouble you're going through for the rest of the group. Many many thanks !
  7. While it's still expensive at $120-150, it's way less than the 250 they used to charge. At that price I just may update to the 08 discs.
  8. That price for that much isn't bad.
  9. 800 is way too much for a D3. I got the D3x bundle (ipod cable, bluetooth module and the D3) for 750 after rebate. That was the total price of the order which also had the dash kit and wiring harness for my car. Honestly I wouldn't buy a D3x bundle for more than 599 at this point. There are too many newer and honestly better alternatives for 800 bucks or more.
  10. If you can find it for a good price I would go for it. The F series that effectively replaced this unit has a bunch of problems (for now). Mine has been in my car for almost 2 months and it works well and there is a whole forum that exists for support. I wouldn't pay anywhere near what the lowest F series or some of the other units (kenwood for instance) are going for. Hope my 2 cents helped you out some.
  11. Check your power and ground connections. My D3 defaults to LA when it looses power. You could have a short. After a short learning period the D3 will learn where you are and you will track you correctly.
  12. What are the chances that Pioneer will make the update available for less that $250 for those of us who bought the D3 during the blowout before May 31st ? Have they ever done that before ?
  13. You have a short in your 12v power supply to the unit. It's losing power and as a result it's settings too. Check your 12V constant (yellow wire) and your 12V accessory (red wire). Make sure your connections are good. If they were crimped, then solder them. Good luck. BTW...I have an '07 2.0T Jetta.
