  1. Sounds like you have a short in one of the speakers. Get a test light, put the alligator clip on a constant, and probe every speaker wire. if you find a wire that lights the tester up, that's the speaker with the short.
  2. You can change the key colors The hacks you see being done rewrite how the avic does things. The only way to get that in-depth with modificatins is to go into the internal files and change them. But why are you scared? You have numerous hackers here who made it easy for people like you to do these hacks. A simple rename and edit paste isn't too bad, no?
  3. Keep looking, you'll find it I guess that would work, and the ability to use Pandora is pretty cool, but I can see that becoming dangerous, looking down at your phone trying to navigate while driving. The whole point of this hands-free/internet iea is to not have to touch your phone.
  4. Your Avic's just not a morning unit. But seriously... What time do you wake up in the morning and where are you located? It may be too cold for the unit to fully power up. Cold does have an effect on electronic devices.
  5. Daytime running lights wont matter. If the illumination wire is connected, the unit will dim when you turn your lights on (or parking lights). Exactly. All that orange wire looks for is a + trigger. You're daytime running lights just make everything automatic. It will still do what it's supposed to do.
  6. If you hook up the Illumintion wire you can have it automatically dim at night also. When your headlights are off, adjust the daytime brightness, then exit the brightness setting, turn the headlights on, go back in the brightness setting, and adjust it how you'd like ti at night. if done correctly, your unit will dim when you turn the headlights on.
  7. No harm done. Boris is one of the biggest hackers on the forum, he could shed a lot of light of this concept idea.
  8. That's on my signature. That goes with every post I make. Relax, it has nothing to do with you.
  9. Where the hell do you expect it to go when you insult a country who was never at fault? C'mon now.
  10. By overhead view, there's a little wrench icon, press it and adjust the miles setting to max. That should take care of it
  11. That's actually a really good idea. Boris, what's your take on it?
  12. Well said, Superman....Well said.
  13. The Z series mods are in the hacks and mods of the Z series section. Not nearly as much variety as the F Series, but there is a good amount of info.
  14. ROFLMAO "....Ah, dude, you shot 'im in the d!ck...that's not cool..."
  15. WTF that's like $500 for a Z3 If it's legit my F90 will be for sale instantly.
  16. OK I have to ask...........what's with the I Love you all comments lol
  17. There's a thread in the forum of someone who's directly connected to Pioneer said it will be out in June. You won't find any articles on it yet, but I doubt someone would just make that up.
  18. As of now the only known fixes are bluetooth and iPod problems.
  19. Oh yes, blame the Americans because of your ignorance. The maps and software that the F Series uses is called iGo 8.0. That particular version DOES NOT support north heading no matter which OS you put it on. The 8.3 version does. A fix for this by pioneer would be to update the iGo version, so like S4 said, it's not Pioneer's fault. And like Lawvol said, the unit is not made in the USA so how is it America's stupidity? Please know what you're talking about before making idiotic remarks. As for the question regarding the update, a 3.0 update is scheduled to released in the late Spring and w
  20. The hardware bypass is easier, takes less time, and is still reversible if your unit crashes. Regardless of which one you do, you still have to ground the Parking brake wire so what's another wire when you're already back there?
  21. _shrug_ Well if it doesn't get done in that time and you decide to take the drive, my offer still stands.
  22. That's the confusing part. It sounds like you grounded the vehicle parkibg brake wire...IDK why you would though..
