  1. When it comes to firmware updates, there are certain aspects that are not changed. This is so a company such as apple can update a product and ensure it is still compatible with other items: Adapters, plug-n-play stereos, yada yada yada. Most companies base their connectivity between their product and the ipod on this information and therefore usually have no problems when a new firmware is released. This is why when I plugged my iPod into my friends 7150, it still worked. Same goes with my coworkers alpine, as well as various docking stations I have tried since it started to fail. It
  2. I called today to complain about my iPod touch not working after updating the firmware. And while there is a good chance the guy was just making stuff up, when I did ask about the update being he stated "I'd like to give you a date, but I can't. We should have had one go out last week, but it got called back a day or two prior to release" I have no idea how they run operations over there. If they're like my company, customer support is usually well aware of release statuses. Then again, I could easily see the guy just trying to get me off the line.
  3. Has anyone else updated their iPod touch to the 2.0 firmware? I did and now it seems that my F700 will not recognize it. I'm not using the Pioneer adapter, rather I have the official Apple connector between the iPod and the headunit; which worked just fine before updating. Anyone else have this issue or has tried using the new 3G iPhone? I'm hoping using the Pioneer adapter will allow this to all work again.
  4. So I had this issue now and then, but it was never constant. I think I found the fix though. While in the ipod screen, go to function and turn Shuffle mode to Off. After doing this, I never had the alphabetical issue happen again. After doing some more testing, it appears that hitting the shuffle button on the main screen causes this to happen. Hope this helps.
  5. Passive aggressive much? After searching and not seeing anyone say that the apple composite still allows you to have control over your ipod for the F-series, I figured I would post actual results. Seeing how people are split as to if this is chip issues or due to a different pin layout, I would imagine most people would like to know that headunit control still works. You are right, but the different AVIC series have different inputs when it comes to this stuff and I figured I'd show that one cable and can work just fine for this specific model.
  6. Got the cable and tried them out. Results can be found here: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16122
  7. Inspired by ttgolf's Kenwood workaround, I wanted to see how the apple composite cable worked with the F-series. The results were interesting. Using the apple composite cable, the F-series is able to maintain the same control over the iPod as using the CD-IU230V. Unfortunately, THE VIDEO TAB IS STILL NOT FUNCTIONAL. HOWEVER! If you have AV1 set to video and the USB cable is not attached, you will now be able to send video (and audio) to your F-Series; something that cannot happen with the IU230V no matter what you try. Of course, you will have to operate through the iPod....but ulti
  8. I would have been able to try it by last night, but after waiting inline for 15 minutes while the fucktard behind the counter decided to have a conversation with guy in front of me about pay as you go phones; I decided just to walkout. I plan on picking up the cable tonight while at Bestbuy. I'll let ya'll know if it works this evening.
  9. I'll pickup the cable and give it a shot tonight if possible. Even if it doesn't work, I'll still need the cable so I can run it through the front input eventually. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
  10. I was thinking about trying this but was concerned about losing ipod control from the head unit. Looking at the video, it appears to still work, though it is a different Brand. Would you happen to know if using the apple cable would retain control through the F-series?
  11. Hey guys, I've searched quite a bit to find an answer but came up short. Does the CD-IU230V support video from the iPod Touch? I know this has been an issue for the D3 and if I recall correctly, the iPhone does not show video on the F Series. I cannot find any information about what is supported and what is not. If it is not supported, is there a work around in place? Thanks in advance
  12. I can confirm that the sirius display still sucks. I went from having the sportster 5, which was a dream to use.....to this: Then again, it still looks better than having the external unit sitting my my dash.
