Question about those butterflys in the MSN screen... .Is there any way to remove them? They just seem out of place... Thanks to everyone involved in making this the software that should have shipped from the factory!

Ive got the same noise you are talking about. Its not really hissing...but when the volume is low, it is very noticable. Sometimes it gets louder depending on the function of the head unit. I thought it might have been the combination of the head unit with the Metra adapter in my RX-8. It really has nothing to do with alternator whine or anything like that...just kind of annoying.

Another great improvement is that they fixed all those damned gas station icons that used to pop up with the MSN Direct! Lots of little improvements too! They did clean up the icons a bit but I like the custom ones that were posted in this forum better.

And the answer is YES! You can still boot up your unit in Test Mode with the 2.0 upgrade! Just finished updating, replaced my image.res, data.zip, and map color files, and everything works GREAT! Just thought you all would like to know! Everything seems to be working very nicely so far! And the dreaded start up screen is gone!

Yeah... it would really suck to give up some great mods, just for a few less seconds booting up. I noticed that those stupid bars are still there in the video on utube! lol.... way to go...

has anyone figured out a way to supress the stupid MSN Direct Icons? I try to turn them off in "manage POI" but it never shuts them off

Well, mine just locked at the start up screen.

Oh and editing the AVRes.Res file by replacing the "Top Menu" entries, just locks up the unit... Anyone else find anything yet?

I made a few more edits: Didnt think that having the Sirius logo in three different spots looked too OEM, so I just removed it and replaced it with that sat logo. I also edited the av source button, wasnt too happy with that one, and i changed the globe logo to the Verizon Check Mark on the phone page.

yeah...I called metra this morning...the initial preorders will ship next week. I guess the first 100 are shipping to installer.com... Mine isn't even installed in my car....just hacking the hell out of mine till it gets here... let me know if you want any of my bmps
