100 feet? Mine boots until I get out of my neighborhood - must be half a mile! Depends on how long your car is running before you actually start driving. True, but I typically don't sit in my car for 45 seconds before going anywhere... I do find it odd that the group is so split. About half dont like it and half think its not too bad. Odd..

Contacts not recognized as voice commands.
tacomaboy replied to RossGGG's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
This is the one thing that actually works more or less. Of course having multiple contacts with one name is a pain. And getting into voice recognition mode is not always a flawless procedure. Also, my damned bluetooth no longer works with my blackberry so the point is moot. -
I agree with you, I could live with it if the voice recognition and GPS took some time to load. But let me change the dang station right away!

Gee, I wonder why the value of these is dropping so quickly. Gues I should have shut my trap and only mentioned how *great* they are. Pioneer screwed me. Or maybe I screwed myself and should have waited a few months.

Thats what I mean. Its on ebay now, but lower prices for a new one mean even lower for a used means I lose more money.

Its killing the ebay resale value of my 900BT. That's a good site though.

Just a quick poll to see if I am too anal, or if the bootup time is really as annoying as I imagine it to be. I drive 10 mile spurts to work and back so maybe that makes a difference. *edit: retrain myself = refrain.

Wow! I guess I must have the only PERFECT F90BT

For non-SD card, playback is pretty quick -within 5 or 6 seconds, about the same amount of time for the backup cam to work. Some control can be had in 30 seconds or so, full control in over a minute usually. If you have the ipod VBR on its 2 minutes for me. None of these are satisfactory in my opinion. Maybe I am the only one, but the O.P. states that 1 min 14 seconds is ok, and for me that amount of time to listen to the radio is absurd. -
Boot up time is one of, if not THE biggest complaint of mine, and its the one Pioneer says they cant (or wont) address. At best its a minor annoyance, at worst its infuriating.

Have you run the update? It fixed the call quality problem for me. Position had nothing to do with it.

I get the same damn problem now with my 8330. Not sure why - it did not do this pre update. And for a while post update it worked great! (except when you disconnected, or let the other person hang up - it would hang). But now I get constant disconnects/reconnects.... gaaarrr

Well its like this... I had bought a Sprint Mogul, "best" most expensive phone Sprint had. And it was just so slow as to be unusable. It just frustrated the hell out of me. To spend so much to get back so little. I later bought a Blackberry curve and this thing is SOOO much nicer. So when I spent 1000 bucks on the Pioneer, I didnt expect perfection, but I certainly didnt expect to spend 1000 bucks to be frustrated, and to have to "get used to" a slow system. I mean, I have to sit in my car for 5 or 6 seconds before i can even put it in reverse... sure, I will survive, but I want

Well I dont want to sue them as an individual. I was considering entering a class action with others - it certainly seems like I am not the only person damaged by this system. I can tell you the majority of problems I am having are due to quality control by Pioneer. And there are enough other people here that it seems that we could get the ball rolling. I dont want to make money off this. Frankly I wish I could just get my money back. If Pioneer called and offered me cash back to take my 900BT back I would jump on it. I am certainly not a proponent of lawsuits, as I think they

Why can't we change the background? I guess changing the splash is ok, since we have to stare at it for what seems like an eternity as it boots up... still, background would have been so much cooler!
-
I have a 900BT. I thought I had read where someone was considering opening a class action suit against Pioneer. They are the ones liable for the quality of their product no?

Oops... goofed browser issue.

Great idea, hope it helps. Thats a LOT of bugs IMO.

My bluetooth is now on the fritz... it connects/disconnects/connects/disconnects over and over. Its now useless. It worked before! Today when changing bands in XM the thing up and rebooted on me (not a battery issue, my Rogue has 3500 miles on it!). I was considering waiting to install the next update, but my patience has worn. I am going to pull it out this weekend and ebay it. Any recommendations for what i should ask? I was thinking 850 bucks with the 16GB SD Card included. I have most if not all the manuals. Also, if anyone else is planning on, or knows how, to file

Well, my 16Gb is hella slow, but I can access all my songs.

How long does it take to boot into WinCE mode? Is it still a long time?
-
No freakin way - I wish I had never bought the thing.

huh?

The firmware patch really fixed the call quality for me. All that time spent repositioning the mic and all was pointless, since it was a firmware issue. I still have bluetooth bugs though, about 50% of the time it sort of hangs after disconnecting. For over a minute it just sits there thinking I am in a call, and pressing the hang up button does not work. Also this morning it was acting buggy, when I was already on a call, and the bluetooth connected mid phone call, my phone call went silent then dropped. When I tried to call back by hitting call on the phone itself, it connect

Possibilities of the F-series after this update
tacomaboy replied to triplet101's topic in Hacks/Mods
You actually make a good point. An SDK is a library to program for specific hardware, not a library which contains the open source code. I guess what I meant was more along the lines of making the source open - which is still not likely to happen because of point number 2.
