  1. I just got the CD-UB100 installed today, it allows you to use USB flash/external hard drive to play your music. I'm anti Apple and just hate the ipod. I was looking for a way to plug in any MP3 player besides the ipod, I then saw the AV2 port on the brain which is just a standard audio jack. I plugged in my cell phone and it worked, however on the N4 there's just a black screen, there was no way to get your default background or songs to show up. It was in Video mode and that's the only option it had, but the songs still played. You would just have to control it from your mp3 device. First off
  2. I just hooked up my mp3 player to the N4 and enabled AV2 on the unit so I can listen to my songs. When I press the AV2 to enable it, the only option is Video. The music plays fine but on my screen it's just black with the time on the top left corner. I understand that my songs won't show up on the screen. I just want to know how to get my background along w/ the time to show? I can't find anywhere to change the settings. The only background settings I know is in the NAVI menu and all are set to the same custom background I added. Is there way to apply my custom background when in AV2 mode? I a
  3. I'm using the dvd navigation (east & west) discs that came with the unit. It's version 1.0, is that also the same version you have as well? It's a red colored disc w/ the circular silver in the middle.
  4. Aftbrn, so your saying that the n4 unit is working fine and you never had an issue with horizontal lines when putting in the navigation dvd to use the GPS? Remember my installer also hooked it up externally and still had the same issue with a replacement unit. He's been installing these in dash units for over 10 years and said he never seen this type of issue before. Did you try the steps I provided to see if the problem could be reproduced? Also crutchfield gave me a call and told me they tested a Pioneer AVIC-N4 & D3 and was able to reproduce the problem on their side. Please let me know
  5. Does anyone have the Pioneer AVIC-N4 installed and working 100%? (bypass or not). If so please reply to this post and let me know. Reason I asked is because I just received a 3rd replacement unit from Crutchfield. I had it professionally installed 3 times by the same installer (unit is also installed video bypass if that matters in the situation). Before he installed the 3rd replacement new unit in my car, he hooked it up to an external power source that was in his shop and was able to reproduce the same problem as the previous 2 times - Horizontal lines in video. Here's how the problem i
  6. I just got my Pioneer - Avic-n4 installed today (bypassed as well) by a auto custom shop. Everything works fine except for this one annoying thing, while I'm navigating thru the menu, in the black background I see these horizontal grey lines. If I press the volume button and switch the unit off (LCD still is powered on, just no video), I can see all the grey horizontal lines across the whole screen. When I pull up the Navigation Maps or play a DVD movie - those grey lines are gone and the video is fine. I called Pioneer twice and they told me "that's normal, it's just the background". For some
