  1. As I pointed out prior - a volume knob and removable face section. After all, not many thieves realize/understand that the 920 is password protected...
  2. Pioneer dropped the ball on the 930. It was nice to see the return of the volume knob and a removable section of the face, but VR is gone and once again you have to shift to the Z to get solid preamp. To boot, why Pioneer can't move forward and do like Kenwood and release a mini tuner for XM (for those of us who would like to use XM in three cars and not pay three times what XM is worth) and/or make it possible to properly label HD radio stations is a mystery.
  3. Install choked two times for me on #2, but just clicked retry and it kept going. At the end everything works, like stated above, it seems a bit faster on each keystroke/button, but startup time is still a joke (34 seconds alone for audio from itouch). Was it worth the cost? Probably not since I will be replacing it soon with something like the Kenwood 9140 so I can finally use an XM Direct and swap a single account between three cars rather than pay for three subscriptions an deal with Pioneer lackluster HD (i.e. no preset labels). Nice try, Pioneer. I have gone through not one, but SEVEN
  4. Let's see... Dual USB, A2DP, killer parametric, and more. If Pioneer doesn't pull their heads out, game over.
  5. From page 109, the 910 is a no-go. The fact that Pioneer is last on the list for compatibility with the XM Direct 2 is frustrating and a big disappointment. If that were an available option, I could get away with using one account for three cars, the house, boat, and wherever else. As far as the N1/F90 harness, while I'm not familiar with the specific harness for the N1 (very possibly different), splicing/soldering/etc. can be avoided if desired. You should be able to simply pull the pins from the N1 harness and swap them in the correct locations on the F90 and voila, plug it right in and
  6. Yes, true, and no, no way to add it. Yet another design flaw that will take waaay to long for them to fix. I assume that you are forgoing MSN absent a splitter for the antenna. The other issue is that you have to leave your antenna setting on "power" so it is up all the time, why the HD tuner can't get special treatment like the AM/FM tuner...
  7. Missing remote is one of the reasons I have refrained from migrating from 980BT to F90 in one of my vehicles. For years I've been using the Pioneer steering wheel remote and still can't believe that the F series doesn't have a wireless remote option. My car that the F90 is in has the radio in a perfect location and given that it is a manual my hand is always within two inches of the screen. Never mind that the voice control is waaaaaay too slow to change xm channels in a timely fashion... The big trick would be to put together a customizable IR/RF receiver of sorts that plugs into the wire
  8. Agreed. The bottom line is that Pioneer just doesn't want Elite/Premier sold online. If you call in an order to 6ave, it is kosher (according to her) as they are authorized to sell Premier "face to face," just not online hence why the format of the receipt has some bearing. Again, take it for what it's worth - there is no guarantee. But hey, maybe Obama will add Pioneer Premier warranties to the stimulus package so everyone is treated equally... haha! Trust me, I understand the concern regarding the warranty as one of my 980BT's is in for service right now and one of my previous Premie
  9. Here is the lowdown - per "Nicole" at Pioneer, so long as the receipt doesn't say "online" on it the warranty is good to go. She was extremely courteous and took the time to double check this issue with her supervisor. The Elite and Premier is not supposed to be "sold online" however 6ave is an authorized vendor, so take that as you will. Also keep in mind that 6ave clearly points out on their homepage that they are 100% authorized for everything they sell. Whether that includes loopholes for online sales is your own interpretation. The impact of making the purchase through Amazon is unknown,
  10. Pioneer lists 6ave as legit but only for home audio. Whether that needs to be updated or means no warranty on mobile products is still an unknown...
  11. Same story... F90BT, icon on occasion shows as USB rather than iPod, unplug/plug back in and it *usually* reappears. I recall this usually happening upon startup though it might occur when switching through sources as well. I only drive the car with the F90 once every few weeks so will have to pay closer attention and update this post. iPod in question is 5th gen 30G and spends 99% of the time left connected in the car.
  12. Yes, have had this same problem. Not sure if it occurred at the same time but have also had the iPod not reappear when F90 was turned back on. Unplug/plug it back in and it's good to go. This has also forced me to reset my iPod as well. For reference the iPod involved is a 5th gen 30G.
  13. I received at least two. Just for clarification, that was a simple, polite request and wouldn't be something they would have to be concerned with if customers would refrain from looking at so much porn online and infecting their computers with STD's (spam transmittal disease). If the spam mail offense would just be subject to the death penalty, but I digress... As you mentioned, Al-Ed's has handled everything with perfection, providing fantastic customer service and keeping everyone up to date as well as providing options out. Good customer service is hard to find, but Al-Ed's is a solid
  14. Excellent! On that note, two points to be made - - when Al-Ed's sends out bulk notices, can you please send them out BCC to help avoid spam from those with infected computers - shouldn't Pioneer subsidize overnight shipping??? We've waited long enough.
