Ok so I got more info, I was told that the HDD has 4 partitions and in order for the updates of the Z3 to work on the new HDD, a hybrid of Z1, Z2 had to be made. Unless someone has a Z3 HDD and clones it, this is what you get. Don't know if thats the only way to do it, but all the Z3 functions are available. The Version is 03.0000 but the other numbers are due to hybrid making. I don't have a clue when it comes to programing this stuff.

It does say it's version 03.0000 on the service screen.

So why aren't my numbers the same as above, what do mine mean? Plateform 2.000400 GPS 1.20000 HDD Application 2.130000

I don't think this is the right setup, if I knew how to share I'd try but I have no idea, that's why I bought this.

Ok, I got the new drive today and it went in great. Only question are these numbers. Plateform 2.000400 GPS 1.20000 HDD Application 2.130000 Are these numbers right for a Z3? The maps are updated from what I saw playing around with it. The splash screen says rel. 2/2008 What going on with this? It's working fine, but is it what I paid for?

Well the drive came today with nothing on it, emailed and I'm getting a new one sent to me express. He said there were a bad batch of drives that didn't get the image.

Bought it today, will post as soon as it comes in and let you know the results. It will be an upgrade from my Z1.

I took out my avic z1 of my H2. I'm trying to put it in my new 2008 silverado 2500hd new body style diesel. I thought I found the VSS wire, but it says that I'm going 20mph all the time. And the impulse is around 58. This has to be the wrong wire or something else is wrong. Help. Where is the VSS wire on this truck. I tried all the wires from the others threads and it didn't work.

I installed mine with a kit from american international. Part#GM-K422 and worked fine. This should fit your vehicle. I did not use the face ring that the unit came with.

I would think a high end install shop would know. Call around and research it. That's what I did with my BOSE system. Like I said, try a high end type shop, not the best buy kind, but they might know too. There has to be an adapter. Try PAC's website, www.pac-audio.com/default.asp.

By the way, if anyone is still looking to purchase one, I bought mine on ebay for $1538 shipped. That's the cheapest I found.

Just finished installing the Z1! Works awesome, the bypass works great! Thanks Ducatiboy!! I also put in the NAVtraffic XM unit and MutiCD changer. Great unit compared to the N1 I had and didn't work after the bypass with upgraded software. I had the PAC interface for the BOSE system already from the N1 install and it hooked up flawless. I definetly recommend it for the GM vehicles with BOSE, this unit sounds great with the bose system, better than the N1. All I have extra is a sub box with amp. The unit gives plenty of power to the other speakers. All I want now is the Ipod interface

I tried everything and still can't get my avic n1 to work properly. I'm thinking it's shorted out or something. The deck opens and the screen pops out but shuts off right away and won't turn on. I've stressed to much over this and my truck is all apart so I'm selling it all. I thought I'd give those of you on the board first dibs on the discs and if you want the brain, deck, xm tuner email me.
