  1. The problem is now solved! I removed the X930BT and shipped it back to Pioneer to be checked out. I re-installed the previous F90BT while the X930BT was gone and verified that everything worked properly, including the iPod. The X930BT which went to Pioneer came back in one week, same unit that I had sent to them, not a replacement and the paperwork did not indicate that any repairs had been made. Put the X930BT back in and had the same "no sound from iPod" problem so just headed for a shop that I know does Pioneer installations. After looking at the symptoms and checking the wiring for a f
  2. Did some additional checking and found that the X930BT WILL display data for the CD's being played, but only for about 2 discs out of every 10! Have tried 20 different CD's now and 4 displayed properly. In that I also have a problem with no sound being played from my iPod, the X930 is going into Pioneer for repairs and my original F90BT is going back in the car. This kind of product quality is not exactly inspiring.
  3. A bit of follow-up here. Took the vehicle to 2 different reputable installers today and they were nice enough to take the time to do some troubleshooting. Both came to the same conclusion: defective X930BT...send it back to Pioneer! Looks like I'll soon be able to report on the warranty repair process from Pioneer. Not looking forward to this I guess I will just re-install the F90BT that I took out.
  4. Yes, it is. Ran into that when I did the first install of the F90BT many years ago and learned my lesson. I obviously have found a new way to screw things up
  5. I have just replaced my F90BT with a new X930BT. All is working properl,y but when I play a CD no information is shown on screen such as album title, artist, or name of the song. I have tried at least a half-dozen different CDs, all original manufacturer's discs, no copies and the lack of information is the same. This was not a problem with the original F90BT. Information from my iPod and an SD card displays correctly. Have I managed to miss a setting somewhere or done something else dumb? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  6. I noticed that you have had no replies to your problem and this post is not going to help, but I have exactly the same problem. Just pulled out an F90BT and replaced it with the X930BT and everything is working properly except for the iPod. All screen indications are correct, music is shown as playing but no sound. The output cable from the iPod is connected to the red and white "Audio Input" cables for the x930, just as they were for the F90BT. Have tried multiple iPods and behaviour remains the same. The adapter cable in use was working fine with the F90BT so I doubt it went bad simply from
  7. Started having this same problem on my F90BT just 2 days ago. Went through the same checks and no joy. Will do some consultation with professional installers to see if they have run into this before, but not holding my breath.
  8. Had the same impression after I installed Sirius with my F90BT...a very "thin" sound. It turns out that you can call Sirius and have your subscription upgraded to a higher bitrate which does improve the sound quality, though it costs an additional $2/month. Was not able to do this online, had to call a customer rep.
  9. I have a newly installed F90BT unit with the upgraded software and am experiencing a subtle high-pitched whine coming from the head unit, not from the speakers. This whine is noticeable whenever the unit is powered up and is not affected by any setting of the volume control, nor is it changed in any selection of the various inputs. Even when the unit is in the OFF setting (power still applied in accessory key position), the same sound is noted. I would say that this sound is similiar to a power supply charging noise. Anyone else had this problem? All suggestions would be appreciated.
