  1. Ordered: 7/7/09 Shipped: 8/11/09 Or so it seems. Looks like the order date changed to yesterday evening (8/11) and it now says shipped. So I'm assuming I should get some sort of tracking info today.
  2. Just ordered mine. I don't mind paying the $60+ b/c I know anyone else ever updating maps has to pay as well. Plus I'd really like to get the new software on there. The part that really got me was $5 for UPS shipping! WTH is that about?! It's two SD cards! Put them in an envelope and throw a couple stamps on it! I just shipped a camera bag in a 10"x10"x10" box via Priority Mail for $4.99! OK, I'm done... just wanted to whine about something that wasn't the price of the actual update.
  3. You can just download the 2.0 update from Pioneer's website and put it on your own SD card. That's what I did and it worked fine.
  4. Bought mine in Aug/Sept of last year. Ran into this last weekend... some of the threads above did help me when I had the issues. Symptoms: Splash screen stayed up for about 15 seconds, then black. Screen, buttons, everything. No response from any button. Reset would do the same thing. Did NOT try "hard reset" though. Got to Test Mode temporarily but as it finished that initial file copy it did the same thing. Fix: Basically my fix was reinstall 2.0 update. Then I was able to get back to Test Mode and copy over my full backup (which saved my ass!).

    3.0 Cost???

Good lord man... did you even read ANY posts before you started a new thread?
  6. Mine does the same thing on my F700. I'm on the latest iPod software - not jailbroken or anything. I haven't tried to do much with it as far as troubleshooting though - I normally have my iPod Classic connected. Though I was just thinking maybe try opening the Videos/Movies app on the iPod and see if the option lights up on the receiver. Could just be an incompatibility though.
  7. Do you see the splash screen at all? Mine just did this on Monday... or something similar anyway. Would show the splash screen for about 15 seconds, then go black. Screen, buttons, everything. But I could tell the unit was still "on." Test mode would start up but would do the same thing partially into the initial file copy. I ended up being able to install the 2.0 update again - which worked OK. Then was finally able to get back into test mode to copy my full backup.
  8. This worked for me! Thank you! Would show splash screen for 15-20 seconds, then go black. Not just the screen, buttons too. But the unit was still "running." Test mode wouldn't work... would go partially through the initial copying and then black again. I was able to do the 2.0 update OK - though it seemed to be in a reboot loop afterwards. But that was OK cause I could at least then get back to Test Mode to copy my backup onto the system again. Backups are the BEST IDEA EVER! Then just had to adjust a few audio settings and I'm back in business.
  9. Yup... I'd say that's pretty important.
  10. I had a few that were a bit smaller... but I just hit Yes to All and didn't really pay attention to the rest.
  11. You should be able to use either the Apple A/V cable or the Pioneer iPod cable. There are 3 ends: one dock connector to connect to the iPod, one with red/white/yellow RCA plugs for the A/V connection to the HU, and another with a USB end to also connect to the HU - though the USB doesn't connect literally into the headunit, but to a cable coming out of it. ALL of those connections need to be made for it to be controlled by the HU. And it still sounds like the USB portion is not connected.
  12. First (sorry this is a personal thing), it is an iPod Touch... not an iTouch. Second... do you have the latest software version on the iPod? Or at least version 1.1.4? It should tell you in iTunes when it is connected to your computer. Also, are you on the latest firmware for the AVIC?
  13. I would double check you have both the RCA cables and the USB portion of the iPod cable connected. It sounds like the RCAs are connected but not the USB... maybe.
  14. Have you found any JVC related forums like what AVIC411 provides? I don't know how big of a following they have, but I would think that would be a good place to start. Or at least worth looking into.
