  1. I ended up restoring my system to v3.1. I'm still unable to boot into testmode tho. Can anyone suggest anything to try? I get that reboot error and it's much easier to be able to delete the corrupt files than to do a restore.
  2. Ever since I upgraded to v3, I am unable to boot into testmode. Can someone tell me what files should be on the sd I use to boot into testmode? I can't find instructions here on what to exactly put on that disk. I found two different configurations here and would like to confirm I have the correct files. I have that reboot loop and need to delete the files. Does anyone know how to prevent this issue? It happens to me about once a year. Thanks, Janet
  3. It looks liek the code is missing from this completed mod. Can someone point me to it? It looks like it's been gone for quite some time. Thanks!
  4. This was my first time installing an audio system in a car so I may have made an obvious mistake. The front plate rattles and I can't get it to stop. it seems to depend on the temperature. A friend told me to take small pieces of cardboard and place them in the loose spots until I can get it to stop. Once I do that, I can put pads in these spots and my issue will go away. The problem it that I can't get them to stop. The front plate seems to fit firmly, then the temperature changes and I get a rattle in a different spot. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I'd appreciate it. I have a F900
  5. Hello, I live outside of Buffalo, NY and my BOYO vtl400 that came free with my AVIC has corroded beyond recognition. It looks like a crunched up aluminum can. Can anyone recommend a good replacement back-up camera that really is water/weatherproof and will last more than 2 years? thanks, Janet
  6. Can someone seed the link? My upgrade failed and I've got no tunes until I can get this file. Thanks!
  7. My husband bought me the map update for my f900-bt, which includes the 3.0 update. It failed at 4% on sd card A. It doesn't work at all now. Can I install the hack version of 3.0 - would that be like the A card? Can someone walk me through this? I did try to find the 3.0 hack otrrent and the link didn't work. I've booted my unit to CE mode before to remove a corrupted file (for the reboot problem), but I"ve never used a torrent. I'd also be interested in learning about a replacement unit. I'm really tired of any change on this unit becoming a 'project' that entails not having nav or music
  8. Hi, I currently have a piece of junk BOYO VTL400 camera hooked to my Avic. The camera was a freebie from Crutchfield when I bought my Avic and was described as water/weatherproof. But it’s far from that. It’s metal is flaking and disintegrating. It’s rusted through 2 of its four supports. The camera lens has a white film over it. I need to replace it. It took me quite a bit of time and effort to snake the 16.5' Video/power/ground cable under my backseat and carpet and center console to bring the wire to the HU. I would like to avoid doing this again if at all possible. I’m hoping
  9. I just got a droid. My son added my facebook, which brought in 300+ contacts and their phone numbers which synced to my avic. Is there anyone to retain these contacts on my phone, but not have them all transfer to the avic. I was thinking of disconnecting my facebook account from my phone, then syncing to the avic, then disabling the phonebook transfer. I'm not sure how to do this. Is there something else I should try? thanks, Janet
  10. Hello, I haven't been around here since about the time the paid upgrade was released and didn't want to purchase it until it had been around the block so to speak. I decided to check and searched the forum and wasn't able to find a discussion on whether the upgrade is worth it. I previously experience a file corruption issue (that this forum helped me fix before having to rip the unit out - thank you, thank you!) so I'm gunshy about breaking something that's working pretty well. Here's a little bit about my install: parking break bypass for route changes and video display back-up cam
  11. Vegas, My f900bt has been rebooting since 12/27/08, since driving back from a holiday gathering. I hadn't even been able to get it into test mode. Today I was going to take it out to send it back to Pioneer since it's finally warm up here in NY. I decided to look here to see if there was something new I could try. I found your post, got the thing to boot into testmode by clicking the sd card in and out until it picked up on it - figured I was sending it back anyway, so what the hey. I got it into test mode, got rid of those files and it works now. Even the gps can find my location now. Pre
  12. I'm not sure I want to sue, but I do agree that there is a huge gap between the commercial and the product. I really wish I bought the kenwood instead. I think the best thing to do is contact a law firm that specializes in class action. It won't cost us a thing. Perhaps we'll get something out of it, perhaps not. But a super-special message is sent to the manufacturer. (She says as she packs her *@&^#% F900BT into a box to send it back to CA for repairs) Damn, even when it comes back repaired, I can't even sell it on ebay or I'll prolly get negative feedback for the $1200 piec
  13. Oh, you figured this out, did you? LOL http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20814 just like the guys I work with.
  14. Thanks for those details. I suspected it was the phone, but never followed through. It's troubling that earlier model LG phones did have this capability. Did LG suggest any models that can auto accept the pbap? Parrot users found a way around this: http://www.parrot.com/forums/usa/viewtopic.php?id=1592 My Avic is still constantly rebooting so I can't get in and mess with this. I don't think we can't set whether the phonebook syncs each time or not with the pairing on the Avic like they can on the parrot. I'd prefer that, though. I'd like just a few numbers in my avic contacts as oppos
