  1. In my honest opinion I think so. I like the layout of the map is better and the boot time is 100 times faster. The only thing that I wish it had that the F90 has is the 4V preouts. Other than that I love this unit.
  2. The wiring harness is different between the two unit. Now you can leave the GPS antenna in place because it's the same for both units. I did this when I bought my X920 and replaced my F90. The only thing that I changed was the main wiring harness and that was it. The microphone has the same adapter also.
  3. Just read the post again, are you talking about the car or the radio?
  4. Did you buy this unit used or new? It has a harness for hooking up the door speakers that has speaker wires on it. It's the harness with the black plug in on it.
  5. I have an 8 gig usb thumb drive on my F90. But here's the catch, anything over 2 gigs will have to be reformatted into FAT 32 or FAT because thumb drives with larger capacities uses NTFS file system and the unit will not recognize it. If you are using a device that requires power, from my understanding it will not work. The unit does not supply enough power to power usb devices. A co worker already tried this with an external hard drive and doesn't work. So if you have an 16 usb thumb drive, it will work but you will have to reformat it first.

  9. I've had my F90 for over a month now. This is my first navi and I love it. I've read all the reviews and comparison of its predesessor. I think people need to realize that the unit reads information from memory like a computer so therefore it has to start up like one. By the time I crank my car up and strap on the seat belt and out of my parking space, the map and music is playing. I think some people are just real picky and impatient on some of the things that are not really a big issue. Just my two cents.
  10. Sonicelectronix.com is where I got it from when it was first introduced back in the summer. They just got some in after being on back order for a few months. Not a bad price either.

  12. The dot is orange for the units that have been already updated.
  13. Lol yea I was using that when I was making sure everything work and was trying to see if I should ground it to the chassis or not before I made a permanent connection. I ended up just using the harness ground and put in a crimp connection.
