  1. I put mine on the front pillar.
  2. I wedged mine between some bare frame and the underside of my dash, as far forward as possible for max visibility. I have never had signal problems, except for in tunnels. The base of the antenna must mate to metal (painted or not) to get best SNR. Good Luck!
  3. Yea, my install (on an un-modded unit) went perfect! I'm quite sure those with big problems either can't read directions, too impatient, or modded the unit so as to prevent correct updating. Thanks Pioneer for making my unit much better. Carcass
  4. I believe there is a setting to adjust volume dynamically. Turn it off. Sorry, I'm not near my unit to check for you.
  5. UPS website says "Out for Delivery". Woo-Hoo.
  6. try; http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CPM1064 expensive tho'

  8. I just got my F700BT as well. I got the blue-dot package, so no need to update the FW. I'm going to bypass the unit, moving and grounding the mute wire. I'm also grounding the Parking brake wire. I have the VSS connected, and the reverse wire connected. I mounted my microphone in the driver side pillar trim, so it's out of the way. I will finish it all tonight, woo hoo! Good luck with your install. Post thoughts here so we can compare notes, ok? carcass
  9. The CDIU230v cable DOES charge the iPod. I do not see any advantage, but I have not used the Apple cables, so I'm not much help to you, sorry.
