  1. I was just wondering if the addresses and settings that you select in the Z units are stored on the harddrive. I updated my Z2 to a Z3 without an issue but it was a new Z2 so I had no information on the drive anyways. I was just wondering if I were to reimage the harddrive again at a later time would I lose all my setting and addresses? I realize my music and stuff would be lost unless I backed it all up first but I was just wondering where the addresses etc are stored. Thanks!
  2. Hey guys, quick question for you. I have quite a few contacts in my backberry pearl, and I want to try to transfer them into my Avic. Is there a special way to use bluetooth and transfer over my contact list? I see an option on the Avic about contact cards but I cant seem to figure it out. If my blackberry can't send them, can I sync it with my bluetooth enabled laptop then have my laptop bluetooth em over as contact cards? Advise needed Thanks!
  3. Just as an update to this bluetooth thread, I just wanted to say I have been using it for about a week now daily. Callers have not complained about any background noise or echo when I asked them. My car is in no way a quiet car (actually, its quite loud) and people can hear me perfectly even on the highway. People should note that bluetooth is actually not really that good of a wireless signal to start with, so if you hide the bluetooth receiver behind the dash your signal may suffer. For best results the receiver should be in line of sight to your phone
  4. Thanks for the screenshot. I changed out my 920XM with the new XM10T with navtraffic and got the new interface! It's sooooooooo much better! I can't believe there is such a difference between units. One question though, I noticed there is something new on my menu something about saving tracks or something? When I click save song it puts it on some list and has some notify buttons or something on there. Anyone know what this does?
  5. thanks for the responses. I wanted a bluetooth adaptor anyways so I just ordered it from the States and picked up a remote at the same time. I'm shocked to see how few accessories are available to us up here!
  6. I too just picked up a Z2 refurb on ebay. Still had plastic on the screen and all cables were BRAND new never even been installed, with 90 day warranty and everything. Payed $740 for it after shipping, then upgraded it to the Z3 by myself for free Total cost was $747 bucks for my Z3 after buying an adaptor to hook the harddrive up to my PC After all this went so smoothly, I feel bad for the people that pay retail. However, many of you have too much money anyways driving around your fancy SUV and you burn more money in gas then what you pay for your Avics soooo.... But for me
  7. this is awesome information. Anyone know if it applies to the Z-series navigation units?
  8. I too am looking for this cable. If anyone has an extra they would like to sell please let me know. Thanks so much!
  9. here's a nice bump for ya...does anyone still have one of these cables available? I will paypal asap thanks!
  10. Anyone know what retail stores sell this? For a $20 remote I would rather just walk into a store and buy it. I got my N1 remote at futureshop but I dont see it listed on their website or bestbuy, although bestbuy USA seems to sell it. Anyone pick one up locally?
  11. Yup I do have the mode button and preset buttons, but then again my old N1 had that also. Does anyone here have XM and can take a picture of the interface screen they see? I will post mine this evening. Is there any interface that shows both the Artist and Song title at the same time? Mine isnt doing that. Also, I'm looking at the GEXP10 unit and notice that it has a "data" port. My 920 doesnt have that. Is this required or is this just a navtraffic thing? I want to get navtraffic now anyways since its in Canada but I dont have one of those cables. Confusing :/
  12. PIONEER NDBT1 BLUETOOTH ADAPTER I'm thinking of getting one as well, just not sure if it's worth the 100+ bucks for it. I have heard some people say background noise is an issue and other people with echo problems. If anyone has experience with one and would like to post up their opinions on it that would be great too.
  13. I have the Pioneer GEX P920XM XM radio tuner installed. I also have a GEX P10XM XM or whatever it's called, the one with the Nav Traffic laying around but not installed. They dont have Navtraffic in Canada so I didnt bother installing that one. Will the newer xm receiver change my interface? Yeah, I read about the channel icons, however I still can't see all the info on the songs/artists etc. My ipod interface does show this info though. Should I be switching xm units?
  14. Hi Guys, I recently upgraded my N1 to a Z2. Awesome! I then upgraded to the newest N3 software and it works well, however I have one problem. My XM interface does not look like those screenshots I have seen here. Basically, it wont even list the title of the song and the composer at the same time. I can tap the display button and I can cycle thru chan name, category, song name, artist but I cannot get the interface that you guys have. Mine still acts oldschool. There are 2 different XM receivers out there, do I have the wrong one or something? I also notice some of you guys have X
  15. Ahh gotcha! Thanks for clarifing! It's appreciated. I'm gunna take a look around locally for one, but it seems hard to find. Are there other drives that work pretty good? Is there anything that speeds up the menu speeds? lol
