its a composite and Svideo cable...does the black end look almost like the end of an old computer mouse cable? multiple pins ect...if so thats what it is.

as long as you can still get into testmode on his unit then yes that should fix it.

Aww cmon guys...this is easy...in fact testmode already has all of the tool you need to accomplish this little feat, It would fix(hopefully) my unit, and it only takes a few steps. 1: boot into testmode with the new version of it Test mode can be found here http://itchybot.com/3.0%20Install%20Files.zip simply extract the folder called test mode onto an empty SD or USB drive, you can ;ignore all of the other files 2:select DiskRW 3:select read(should already be done) select SDMLC and give it a place to go in the propmpt(an SD or USB card )... 4:hit read let it work until it says co

Could someone post the SDMLC file for an F900. I have been scouring this site and have yet to come across a copy. I haven't bricked my unit but i need this file to possibly fix the error that the MSN direct is giving me"firmware update failed"...and of course Pioneer say"just send it back" with no guarantee or RMA number just a hope and a prayer that it will magically get back to me, so any help will be appreciated. thanks

but that is the problem...some of us paid 1200 for our units, others paid 400. you might feel like you got a good deal but others, like tacomaboy, feel betrayed. Had I paid 400 for the 900bt i would be upset but not betrayed, but I paid 900 bucks for this thing and for what? 1. Personally all i use is the SD slot, but you can also use a USB stick. And the first thing you should do when you get it is load up testmode and make an entire backup of your unit. 2.Yes all you need to do is modify image.res, as for the parameters, I would stick to the resolution and format that whatever Icon's you modify use(I have not modified images res myself but i have used GUGA's theme and it works great) 3. sorry i can't help with the brazillion maps, though you could checkout the igo forums. anyhoo, goodluck with the install and future modding

Yes, Windows is always running in the background, it is the operating system, same as on your computer, Testmode simply stops the avic interface from loading over top of it and lets you use windows to manipulate files, ect.
