I know these are quite a few years apart so I was hoping someone could tell me if they would just be a straight swap or if they have different plugs and I'll need a new interface (or anything else)? Nothing fancy in my truck, 2003 Chevy Avalanche, no factory amp, no bose, no Onstar, no steering wheel controls. I do have an after market amp for my subs but that's it. Thanks

Been waiting for this!! Downloaded the MSN version and loaded on my F90 and everything looks great. Haven't played around with it much yet but so far so good. Let us know if there's anything specific you'd like us to test or if you'd just like us to post any issues we run into. Thanks again, I'll send a donation your way soon as well! -
Thanks, now I know exactly what to look for. And I agree that it's worth it. I think I'll route any significant drive through LA now and have it set to re-route based on traffic (can't remember exactly what it's called). The one time I remember it working it saved me a lot of time by directing me through a maze of side streets to get around a MAJOR accident.

Perfect timing, I just re-activated my MSNDirect yesterday after reading about the better reception and noticed the green dots on our way home from dinner last night. No route and they were on the highway which was a blue color. I Haven't had time to test it out much yet but I thought the entire highway color changed only when you're in a route.

Good idea! 99 time out of 100 it should be fine but I won't take that chance again.

It'll work, if you have a good battery, but if you would draw down the battery voltage below AVIC's cutoff while upgrading, it would leave AVIC in a very messed up state... Yep, happened to me, was messing with it so much while the password site was down I drained my battery, it died in the middle of a file transfer bricking my unit. Was able to get everything working again after jumping my truck by using the complete reformat & reinstall of 2.0 but what a pain!! Just keep the motor running to be safe.

My update went fine as well, had to press retry and 9% & 92% but kept going both times. Was wondering if anyone else had problems after the update with polarized sun glasses? I have a polarized clip on for my glasses (yes, because I'm soooooo cool ) and ever since the update I can hardly see the screen with them on. Never noticed this before, I would have thought it would be an angle thing but nothing else has changed and it doesn't matter where the sun's coming from either. Screen looks great without them and I haven't played with any settings yet. Other than that I like th

Japan just had another earthquake yesterday, 6.7 magnitude off the coast but sounds like it still shook things up pretty good. I think that's 4 over the past week including 3 very large ones so expect more delays. I'm really pissed at Pioneer also for the reasons everyone else have already mentioned but my guess is this is one application set up specifically for generating passwords for the updates listed on the site. Nothing will stop working if this goes down, nothing will crash, people won't be get stuck in their cars and no safety features will be affected. Just no updates.

You know, it's funny how I can try and contribute to a thread by posting MY experiences which directly relate to the topic, and then some smart ass comes along trying to insult me... So, just to clarify, I NOTICED that the GPS was not routing me correctly either on my trip OR driving around town, and by saying that I mean it was WAY off... But I didn't say ANYTHING about actually following what the GPS was telling me to do. So please, if you have something to say that will actually contribute, feel free to say it. Sorry to furl your feathers there bud. My point was that many people rely

Thanks!!! This post saved me big time!! I upgraded to the legit 3.0 (first disk only ) which seemed to go fine, next time it started up the system starting message would stay on for about 30 seconds then it would reboot over and over. I tried so many half-assed reverts on my own I probably had files from every release going at the same time but this fixed it, the second time... I spent so much time messing with it the car battery died with about 5 minutes left of the final 2.0 file copy. Only advice I can give with the test mode is to try both the old and new versions. One should

Web pages don't necessarily have anything to do with the systems they're displaying, they can be on opposite sides of the world for all we know. That being said IF the earthquakes brought everything down and they really had no DR plan in place then that's just stupid.
-
Actually I don't see why someone can't upload the content of SD disk 1 for others to download. There's no passwords until you install the second disk. I just put mine in and it updated just fine but now I'm stuck on that damn incorrect disk error thing Looks like disk 1 may just be the bug fixes and wince upgrade but not positive and it only changes the version number to 2.1 not 3 but anyone should be able to use it.

I assume this is the 3.0 that was downloaded from Pioneer's site (through browsing not from the legit link)? Don't know if it's been discussed yet but I'm tired of digging though all the BS threads and search is becoming useless on this subject but what makes people think this is the final release (serious question, I'm not bitching at tacomaboy)? Not saying it isn't but I'll wait for my copy to arrive first. I'm happy enough with the unit, the button response will be a nice fix and I really hope they improve the shitty bluetooth the rest I can live with. I guess I just expect less n

Ah ok...well, i had to switch keyboard everytime to enter numbers... About the Bluetooth, it's HW100-SW300-RC3 (by memory ... i might be wrong). The phone interface is a bit better, but i haven't use it really yet. (and i never had problem with it before either). About the startuptime, no improvements noticed... Startuptime has to do with the IGO i believe, it takes time to load. I had 8.3 on an other unit and this took about the same time, so i don't expect improvements there... Kind of thought the same, it does load quite a bit. Oh well, my back up camera and music comes up

Yes, this looks amazing compared to what we've been dealing with. I'd really miss the awesome mods people have done here but I may be willing to give up test mode for this performance if it really came down to it. I'm sure someone will find a work around anyways either that service mode or something else. Couple quick questions Did you notice improved boot times as well or just the performance after it boots up? In 2.0 I believe bluetooth was a separate install so was there any BT upgrade or is the BT version different? Haven't seen any references to the speed limiter bypass yet eithe
