  1. No problem at all, I no longer have the Z3 installed in my car, as i am upgrading to a full portable computer. I think I just got tired of all the restrictions in these head units. If your intrested in seeing my progress (which is slow), or are just intrested in what others do to install computers in thier cars then please go and check out http://www.mp3car.com. The link is below. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/worklogs/140246-2003-honda-civic-hybrid-install-worklog.html
  2. You should review the post in this forum that talks about the new unit and its features, I am sure it will give you all the info you need. I personally am purchasing a Z110BT and then buying the upgrade when they release it. Decide for yourself after you read through the forum posts. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=30778
  3. I have this exact same problem with my Z3, I will be checking the power line this weekend to verify the connection.

    Z110BT in Canada

Where did you have them price match from? If they will price match then ill just order from them. I am looking forward to the 120BT upgrade from a 110
  5. To remove the plastic rack it has 3 legs attached to the rail. To reassemble, just reverse the dis assembly process, with some time and patience you can get it done. Good luck DISCLAIMER: This is not a complete list of steps from the manual, it is only a guide to familiarize you with what is needed.
  6. Your contradicting yourself when you say that but I am interested in finding a way to dump or otherwise get the existing files off of the system. If you found a process to dump them please let me know the process you used, or are attempting to use. the only process I see defined on page 94 of the service manual is a way to write to the Navi, Platform, Bootloader, System uCon, BlueTooth, and Opening Data from a USB OR SD Card
  7. The first step of this process is getting a hold of a Microsoft Automotive v5.5 SDK or Dev Kit. Then installation and connection of the device, in this case the AVIC-Z110BT. Once we get this far then we can talk about decompiling, but I am unaware of any decompiler for Windows Automotive v5.5 . Also if you want to interface with the unit directly your best bet is the JTAG connection, or SD Card because they are directly connected to the main CPU on the CC Unit board. The entire unit is controlled by the CC Unit Board, it is also where the Flash ROM (8M), DDR SDRAM (512M X 4), NAND (4
  8. One last thing of note: IMPORTANT: This mail-in Rebate is valid for Internet purchases only from an Authorized Pioneer Internet Dealer. For a complete list of Authorized Pioneer Internet Dealers, please view the Authorized Pioneer Internet Dealer list. And that is what sucks about the rebate So if you know about a Authorized Pioneer Internet Dealer that sells for less than say 1000, then i might be interested in buying from them directly. That way i could qualify for the 200 rebate and it would in the end cost me less then it would from Amazon or where ever I end up buying it fro
  9. Awesome, that is the information I was looking for. I will just purchase one from Amazon since that is the lowest price I can find now and upgrade it later on. I just wish I could figure out the development interface for windows mobile 5.5 for devices. I am sure lots of people would be interested in modifying their Z units. I know that when development is done with a device it is typically connected to a computer so that program changes can be compiled and then downloaded to the device, but there is no information in the service manual on how to do this. It is times like this that
  10. You will pay a lot less by getting the 110 then getting the upgrade. And you will have to pay for it. There is also this to consider.... You got up until March 31'st to decide... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... ion+Rebate Here is the thing with the rebate, you HAVE to buy from the list of approved Pioneer dealers: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... et+Dealers Vendor Price 6th Ave. $1,200.00 Al and Ed's $1,199.99 Best Buy $1,599.00 carconcepts.com N/L Car Toys
  11. I already found the manual....thats what started this thread. Unless im mistaken and service manual is different from user manual. Yes the Service Manual is very different for the User manual. the User manual tells the user how the device operates and how to use it, where as the service manual tells the technician how to disassemble, adjust, repair, or otherwise service the unit.
  12. I know this is a totally outdated post but I wanted to amend to it for future reference that the rack part number for the Z1- Z2 - Z3 is CZN701 and will cost you about $16.95 plus shipping from pioneer. The part takes 5 - 7 business days to arrive. You can order this part by calling their parts department at 1 800 228 7221 or by clicking the link below. They are open from M-F 7AM to 4:30PM PST and close for lunch from 11:30 to 12:30. Thanks Greg Fisher for the link to the Pioneer website. http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/par ... um=CZN7014
  13. Good to know but I do not want to have to pay extra for it, I hope there is a process that will allow us to update from the 110 to the 120 without having to pay Pioneer or anyone else a fee. Only then would I buy a 110 and upgrade it. If I have to pay to upgrade a 110 to a 120 then ill just buy a 120.
